Noosa Botanical Gardens - Sunshine Coast - Queensland Australia
Noosa Botanical Gardens:
The gardens are located on the shores of Lake MacDonald just a few minutes out of Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast. This video footage was taken just at the beginning of spring as the garden was waking up after winter.
It’s about a 20 minute drive from Noosaville and 25mins from Noosa Heads.
The gardens are a great place to spend a relaxing day or just a couple of hours. You can walk the many paths, sit in the shade and enjoy the peace and quiet or jog about for fun and fitness. It’s a lovely wedding location or a nice space to have a birthday party.
Go check it out, you’ll be glad you did.
Cheers, Doddy!

Noosa - Noosa Botanical Gardens
Noosa - Botanical Gardens
The Noosa Botanic Gardens are a short drive from the hinterland town of Cooroy, on the shores of Lake Macdonald.
The gardens comprise eight hectares of native and exotic plant species. The gardens are home to an abundance of wildlife. Other features of the gardens include:
an open-air bush chapel
a fern house
a lily pond
large lawn areas with winding paths leading to picnic areas
a Greek style amphitheatre (a circular structure with rows of seats).
The site was originally farmland. Council resumed the site in the late 1950s. Part of the site was used to create the Lake Macdonald water supply.
The site was used to dump rubbish until local resident Ida Duncan approached council for permission to clear the site. With the help of other locals, Ida Duncan cleared the area of weeds and car bodies.
Funding from a government community employment program was used to start construction of the botanic gardens in 1987.
When the program ended, council appointed two full time staff to continue construction and maintenance of the gardens. Former Noosa Shire Parks Curator, Bob Bickley designed the layout of the gardens. Council has funded the gardens since 1988.
The Noosa Botanic Gardens officially opened to the public in August 1990.
A Friends of the Noosa Botanic Gardens group has been established. They meet every Thursday in the gardens at 8.00 am for a working bee. The group also meet at 5.00 pm every second Monday in the Cooroy Library. For more information meet the group on Thursday mornings or Monday afternoons.

Sunshine Coast Hinterland Australia-Maleny Town & Gardners Falls
A day trip from Brisbane or from the Sunshine Coast is well worth to include this place on your holiday. Leave your vehicle in the car park on the banks of the Obi Obi Creek and take a short, level walk downstream to Gardners Falls, a hidden gem in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
You’ll pass a number of rock pools which are shallow and ideal for smaller children who just want to splash about. Follow the bubbling waters downstream where the pools increase in size and enjoy a freshwater swim in the largest pool underneath the falls.
These delightful waters are bounded by a grassy verge and backed by native forest making it the ideal spot for a hinterland picnic or a post-swim snooze under a giant water gum.
Stop in Maleny or Montville for lunch and some shopping, don't miss the Gerrards Lookout on the way to Montville it has an awesome view. Visit Lake Baroon or stay at the Secrets Resort nearby.

Wedding in Cooroy
NOOSA BOTANICAL GARDENS
Chris + Vivienne 07.11.2015
A few weeks ago I filmed a lovely intimate backyard Wedding in Cooroy Qld. Vivienne and Chris set up a ceremony with hay bails for seating and a lovely arch with a heart and lily flowers and babies breath. It was a intimate ceremony with closest friends and their celebrant was the lovely Lynette Maguire. It was a very hot morning and the storm cloud were threatening to hit us with a down pour but the continued the ceremony as planned.
These two met 6 and half years ago when Viv wanted a a body kit fitted for her car. She called the best man Brendon who was a panel beater and then he put her onto his mate Chris the painter and in the words of Lynette Maguire the sparks flew! They couple wanted to do things a little differently during their ceremony they did ninja vowels which is they each write a vow for the other to say and they have not read them until the day. The other thing the did was burn the date of their Wedding and their names into a wooden frame which was a nice touch.
The weather held off perfectly and we went down the road to the Noosa botanical gardens for their photos and video highlight moments. So much colour with the purple flowers from the Jacaranda trees and the season changing into summer made for some beautiful backdrops. The storm clouds helped make a stunning sunset that went on for a long time and even after it started to get dark.
Then it was back to the house for reception were the couple had set up a marque which the bought themselves and it made for the perfect reception venue. The food was great from the caterers of delicious pork belly.
I was actually a lovely surprize gift Videographer from Viv's sister, brother in law and her parents and I hope Viv and Chris like their gift.
