Nop Phu Pha Strawberry Farm
Open Chiang Mai spent a morning at the wonderful Nop Phu Pha strawberry farm, located on the Samoeng Mae Rim Road, about 1 hours drive from the city. The farm is nestled in a beautiful mountain valley and is one of the best 'pick-your-own' strawberry farms in the Chiang Mai region. The best time to visit the farm (for strawberries) is during the winter months December - February, as this is when the strawberries are ripe enough to harvest. As well as strawberries the farm also grows oranges and passion fruit, which you can also pick when they are in season. In order to really experience this fruit farm and enjoy all the activities on offer, Open Chiang Mai recommends staying over night in either your own tent or a basic bamboo hut. The farm also has a farm shop which serves up lovely fruit shakes and desserts as well as a fine selection of strawberry wines and spirits!
The entrance fee to the farm is 20 bht and 250 bht for every KG of strawberries, that you collect yourself. Happy Picking!
