2016 Sweden - Älgå cemetery
After making this video learned that there was no tombstone only a number marking the location since they had been dug up. Grace robbers? No, A Scandinavian tradition I soon learned. Many generations would have been in this cemetery and at Glava but almost all the old tombstones are gone. Hi my
Världsarvsresenären / The World Heritage Traveler: Stockholm (Birka/Drottningholm/Skogskyrkogården)
As World Heritage Traveller I have visited over 250 UNESCO-sites in the world. But in my hometown there are also 3 sites to see, that tells the story of three historic periods in Swedens capital Stockholm. From the Viking Age in Birka, to the world-famous Drottningholm Castle up to the Woodland Cemetary (Skogskyrkogården).
Stockholm, Sweden - Riddarholmen Church (2018)
The Riddarholm Church (Swedish: Riddarholmskyrkan) is the burial church of the Swedish monarchs. It is located on the island of Riddarholmen, close to the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. The congregation was dissolved in 1807 and today the church is used only for burial and commemorative purposes. Swedish monarchs from Gustavus Adolphus (d. 1632 AD) to Gustaf V (d. 1950) are entombed here (with only one exception: Queen Christina who is buried within St. Peter's Basilica in Rome), as well as the earlier monarchs Magnus III (d. 1290) and Charles VIII (d. 1470). It has been discontinued as a royal burial site in favor of the Royal Cemetery and today is run by departments of the Swedish Government and Royal Court.
It is one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm, parts of it dating to the late 13th century, when it was built as a greyfriars monastery. After the Protestant Reformation, the monastery was closed and the building transformed into a Protestant church. A spire designed by Willem Boy was added during the reign of John III, but it was destroyed by a strike of lightning on July 28, 1835 after which it was replaced with the present cast iron spire.
Coats of arms of knights of the Order of the Seraphim are on the walls of the church. When a knight of the Order dies, his coat of arms is hung in the church and when the funeral takes place the church's bells are rung without pause from 12:00 to 13:00
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the most populous city in the Nordic countries;952,058 people live in the municipality, approximately 1.5 million in the urban area, and 2.3 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Just outside the city and along the coast is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the capital of Stockholm County.
Stockholm is the cultural, media, political, and economic centre of Sweden. The Stockholm region alone accounts for over a third of the country's GDP, and is among the top 10 regions in Europe by GDP per capita. It is an important global city, and the main centre for corporate headquarters in the Nordic region. The city is home to some of Europe's top ranking universities, such as the Stockholm School of Economics, Karolinska Institute and Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). It hosts the annual Nobel Prize ceremonies and banquet at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Stockholm City Hall. One of the city's most prized museums, the Vasa Museum, is the most visited non-art museum in Scandinavia. The Stockholm metro, opened in 1950, is well known for its decoration of the stations; it has been called the longest art gallery in the world. Sweden's national football arena is located north of the city centre, in Solna. Ericsson Globe, the national indoor arena, is in the southern part of the city. The city was the host of the 1912 Summer Olympics, and hosted the equestrian portion of the 1956 Summer Olympics otherwise held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Stockholm is the seat of the Swedish government and most of its agencies, including the highest courts in the judiciary, and the official residencies of the Swedish monarch and the Prime Minister. The government has its seat in the Rosenbad building, the Riksdag (Swedish parliament) is seated in the Parliament House, and the Prime Minister's residence is adjacent at the Sager House. The Stockholm Palace is the official residence and principal workplace of the Swedish monarch, while the Drottningholm Palace, a World Heritage Site on the outskirts of Stockholm, serves as the Royal Family's private residence.

Hagaparken (Haga Park), or simply Haga in Solna Municipality just north of Stockholm, Sweden is a vast and popular nature area, with large parks, lakes, woods and gardens.
Within the park is Haga Palace, King Gustav III's Pavilion, the Chinese Pavilion, the Echo Temple, an older castle ruin (which is not really a ruin as it is the remains of a castle never finished) and several other interesting buildings on the grounds (such as the peculiar Copper Tents and also the Butterfly House). Included in the Haga Park is also the Royal Burial Ground of the Swedish Royal family (since 1922), where several members and ancestors of the present Swedish royal Bernadotte family rest.
Hagaparken has historically been favoured by Swedish royalty, especially Gustav III who founded it and developed it 1780-1797,
and by the famous troubadour Carl Michael Bellman, a contemporary of Gustav III, who is much associated with Haga due to the lyrics of his compositions, poems and his writings. The song Fjäriln vingad is entirely dedicated to the park.

The first and most serious terrorattack in Stockholm, Sweden 25-02-2013
After the terroristattack on the Eritrean Community Center in Solna Stockholm
This Community Center in Hagalund, Solna is one of the three Eritrean Community Center that were burned up in the Swedish capital Stockholm 25-2-2013. The other two were in Husby and Högdalen who also burned at the same night within two hours. The major reason for the murders fires could be that the Swedish media and politicians have for decades systematically harassed and deprived against the peaceful Swedish citizens of their rights who have their roots from Eritrea.
The daily newspaper Expressen has for many years worked against the Swedish-Eritrean population in Sweden, the newspaper has written a number of lies about Eritrea for decades. One can also say without hesitation that it was Expressen that started dirt campaign against Eritrean in Sweden. This is not the first time that the magazine tries to create news by engaging people in this way. There are currently a number of clips on youtube where we can see Expressen participation and lies.
In this video we see how Expressen reporter and photographer interviewing one of the enemy of Eritreans to get the big news of the day. The man being interviewed pretend to be one of those responsible for the national association that affected by the terrorist attacks and has been hired to speak. Expressen has not yet published this interview, and one wonders if it might have with that they were caught in the act?! Below you can read the translation to English

Reporter:
- ... Will you act ....
Anzar:
- Hopefully the police is supposed to comment on this and those behind the stand to whose. What we do is if we pay attention to something that we usually do, we will turn to the police to come to the defense
Reporter:
- Are you afraid that kind of thing will happen again
Anzar:
- I am afraid that they have never expected it to happen in Sweden. This would happen among Eritreans and it is oroligen for one, in some way it ends in this case. I do not want to continue but I'm concerned, it's me.

Anzar:

April showers are sweet not cruel
a chill rain after a warm spell enchants
spirits of autumn
-they wake in spring too
but wait for summer's too-early end
before they sing with dried leaves
against wind
In april mists permeate all; unclothing bones
buried deep and bones buried biting through clothes
cold
only sentience can know cold, and then once
a memory, a rock, in a brook yields to water's
persistence
without memory these green things sprout to a world
that has always had electricity,
break out from a dark place to light pushing aside dirt,
lifting plastic cups, and cigarette butts, and with each spurt
of insistence burying this stuff it knows not
as detritus but as place
A memory is formed and from one another as green things
come to sentience, negotiating in open air around place,
being, a well spring flowing up and around
rocks
the rocks mark place as anchors- dreams
from memories form a dance
of joy amid place that is only beauty
the dance carries on
the dance carries on
April showers are sweet not cruel
April showers are sweet not cruel
after a season, autumn will bring all back to sleep
while the dance carries on. No,
April is sweet not cruel
for its lack of memory is sweet
not a memory that is extinguished
Ernest and Clarence Iverson tribute show - Wrangler Ross Radio Ranch
Last night I went to video record the “Wrangler Ross’ Radio Ranch” show by Peter Holbrook with my Nikon 7100 camera - an original production by the Sons of Norway “Scandia” Lodge. I felt it was going to be unique and something really special. And you will see it was just outstanding. I was able to capture most of the show and will soon post all the event along with other Scandia Lodge video and photos when completed. In the mean time to give you a taste of what you missed - here’s the last 7 minutes of the show. Edward Mike Wick S/N District 1 Facebook editor
“Wrangler Ross Radio Ranch” was inspired by two of the most popular Scandinavian-American performers of the last century. Ernest and Clarence Iverson, a.k.a. “Slim Jim and the Vagabond Kid”
Born to North Dakota Norwegian Immigrants Ernest and Clarence Iverson were popular radio personalities in the Midwest during the 1930s and 1940s. Ernest (1903–1958) was known as Slim Jim. His brother Clarence (1905-1990) was the Vagabond Kid. Together they performed an eclectic mix of music ranging from country western and Tin Pan Alley to gospel hymns and Scandinavian ballads.
The Iversons, who were born near Binford, North Dakota, came from a large Norwegian-American family. When their mother died in 1910, their father hired a Norwegian immigrant housekeeper named Molly Rood. She not only taught the boys how to play the guitar but also a significant part of their Norwegian-language repertoire.
Ernest Iverson left the Midwest as a young man and after an injury in the oil fields of Texas made heavy work impossible, he turned to radio for employment. In Wichita Falls and Omaha he established himself as a radio personality and singer. Then he headed north and got a job on a Minneapolis radio station.
By the early 1930s Ernest and his younger brother Clarence had reunited and formed an act as Slim Jim and the Vagabond Kid. During their heyday in the 1930s and 1940s the Iversons not only had a daily radio show but also performed live with their own band. Their half-hour radio broadcasts usually ended with some words of inspiration and a song of faith. Listeners might hear It Is No Secret, Just A Closer Walk With Thee or The Old Rugged Cross. The Iverson brothers were fixtures on Twin Cities radio until Clarence entered the army in 1943. After seeing action in France, he once again teamed up with his brother Ernest. In 1948 Clarence left show business. For many years he and his wife Frances operated a nursery in Blaine, Minnesota. They moved back to their hometown of Binford, North Dakota in 1970.
Ernest known as Slim Jim continued as a solo act in the 1950s. He had a daily radio show and hosted the television program Slim Jim’s Westerners. He was much in demand for live performances and made a number of records. His death in 1958 was mourned by thousands of fans. Having married into the Ruschmeyer family of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, he was buried in the town cemetery there. His wife DeLoris, who never remarried, survived him by fifty years.
Ernest Iverson was inducted into the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting's Hall of Fame in 2003.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the most populous city in the Nordic countries; 960,031 people live in the municipality, approximately 1.5 million in the urban area, and 2.3 million in the metropolitan area. Stockholm is the only capital in the world with a national urban park.Stockholm is the cultural, media, political, and economic centre of Sweden. The Stockholm metro, opened in 1950, is well known for the decor of its stations; it has been called the longest art gallery in the world.
The government has its seat in the Rosenbad building, the Riksdag (Swedish parliament) is seated in the Parliament House, and the Prime Minister's residence is adjacent at Sager House. Stockholm Palace is the official residence and principal workplace of the Swedish monarch, while Drottningholm Palace, a World Heritage Site on the outskirts of Stockholm, serves as the Royal Family's private residence.
