Travel vlog / Don Salvador Benedicto-negros island tourist destination
Love mountains? Need to escape from the heat and pollution of city life? Want to get away from the crowd? If so, Don Salvador Benedicto could easily become your happy place.
The municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto, or DSB for short, is a highland town located north of Negros Occidental. It can be reached in about an hour if you take bus trip from Bacolod City. Since we came from Sagay City, an ecotourism destination in the Northern tip of Negros Occidental when we headed to DSB, we took the bus to this town via San Carlos City.
Being one of the few places in the country with cooler weather, DSB has been dubbed as the “Little Baguio” of Negros Occidental. The town is also a part of the protected area covered under the Northern Negros Natural Park. Don Salvador Benedicto is endowed with lush forests, verdant mountains, and abundant natural water sources. Continue reading and pick your items of things to do in Don Salvador Benedicto.

PHILIPPINES N°6 : Negros - Sipalay
En route pour la côte ouest de Negros pour nous rendre dans la région de Sipalay, petite ville de pêcheurs loin des circuits touristiques traditionnels.
Bacolod and Ilo-ilo Travel
Destination List.
1. Lakawon island.
The pure white sand of Lakawon Island Resorts is a haven of
peace and relaxation and a place for one to rejuvenate.
Lakawon Island Resorts is scattered within 16 hectares offering
all the comforts of home available in our spacious accommodations.
Now under new management, Lakawon Island Resorts is further expanding
into a bigger, more luxurious resort right in the heart of Negros.
Whether on a getaway, honeymoon, or just the desire to relax and rejuvenate,
Lakawon Island Resorts is the perfect island persuasion.
2. Campuestohan Highland Resort
Campuestohan Highland Resort is the brainchild of the visionary couple
Ricardo “Cano” Tan and Nita Tan. Its history is as lovely and grand as
the present beauty that awaits visitors who take the time out to commune
with nature in this glorious haven in Negros Occidental.
Situated right in the boundaries of two of the most progressive cities
in the province – Bacolod City and Talisay City, Campuestohan is a 5-hectare
property that radiates the splendor of the lush green forests of Mt. Makawili.
From this vantage point, one can see the breathtaking view of almost half of
the entire province of Negros Occidental, and even that of Panay Island.
Most of the time, the weather in the resort is downright cool while one can see
the seemingly merciless heat in the plains below.
3. The ruins.
The mansion was built in the early 1900’s by the sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson
(1865-1948) and was home to his unmarried children with his first wife, Maria Braga Lacson
(+1911), a Portuguese from Macau. The mansion was the largest residential structure ever
built at that time and had in it one of the finest furniture, chinaware, and decorative items,
as the father of Maria Braga was a captain of a ship that sailed across Europe and Asia and
would cart with him these items. One of their daughters maintained a beautiful garden of
lilies in and around the
4-tiered fountain fronting the mansion, all brought in from abroad.
4. Garin Farm.
In the versatile inland resort, you can find superb amenities of individually
landscaped glass- walled rooms with a breathtaking view of the ocean or
the mountains, a wide swimming pool for adults and children, a 5,000 sq.
meter man-made lagoon for boat rides, sporty fishing and kayaking,
and horseback riding, among many others.
