West View
A Brief History
A borough in Allegheny County, West View is located just north of downtown Pittsburgh. As of 2010, the population was 6,771. The borough is very small, totaling only one square mile. An integral part of the area’s history was West View Park. Pittsburgh native T.M. Harton bought the land in the local Valley when it was just a swamp. The Amusement Park opened on May 23, 1906. The first rides at the park were a carousel, chute ride and roller coaster. There was also an open air dance hall, the largest dance hall in western PA at the time. There was also a Penny Arcade, pony rides and rowboats on a small lake. The park lasted until 1977 when other amusement parks began installing expensive rides and West View Park couldn’t compete.
Fun Facts
Seniors residing in the area have a borough pass where they can ride for free 27 times in year on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This historic neighborhood won a Banner Community award for 2016. The area adopted a slogan which is “A Good Place to Live.”

HORRIBLE Otis Gen2 Elevators at Home2 Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh/McCandless, PA
Recorded: 1/23/2019
These were one of the first (if now the first) Series 7 installations in Pittsburgh. I didn't end up riding them until early 2017. At that time, they were in alright shape. Fast forward to 2019, the good days of these elevators are OVER. They are loud, rattly, and shaky. They are possibly the worst newer Gen2 elevators I have been on. I expect better from Otis. The hotel, on the other hand, is very nice and well kept. OtisElevatorFan102 discovered these, and a few others have also filmed them.

This property was hit really bad by Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and again by Hurricane Wilma in 2005, and suffered damages from unimaginable amounts of flooding.
The owners have since been involved with extensive clean up and repair work to get the building back into shape. They plan to reopen soon, but have yet to announce an official date.
Pittsburgh: A city of neighborhoods nestled in the rolling hills
What makes Pittsburgh unique, is it's three rivers and the neighborhoods surrounding the city all nestled in the rolling hills. This was shot using a DJI Mavic Pro and added some tilt-shift effects in two clips.
Schindler Elevator at the Cranberry UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania
Riding the Schindler RT Elevators at the Cranberry Township UPMC Passavant in Cranberry, PA and this is my first hospital elevator video that I filmed on YouTube. These elevators were installed in the early 90s, the elevator that I rode had the floor letter P which was locked so 2 was as high as I can go and also had a rear door. The other elevator just had G, 1, and 2. Overall, they are very nice elevators for a Schindler RT and it ran very smooth and I liked the fact that 2 and 2R on the indicator both lit up at the same time.
Into the Wild Magic Bus Look-Alike: Fish Haven, Idaho
I visited this bus that we found up in Fish Haven, Idaho. It looks like the Into the Wild Magic Bus. We had heard from some people that a homeless person had lived in it in the past and the signs were obvious. It was very trashed with old clothes, sleeping bags, and mattresses, and vandals had busted all the glass in the windows out. Still very cool place to visit and it threw me back to the Chris McCandless Story.
Westinghouse Elevator at the Four Allegheny Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Fujitec Scenic Elevator at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Riding the Amazing Scenic Elevator at the Monterey Bay Fish Grotto Restaurant which is located in Pittsburgh's Grandview Neighborhood. Once in the elevator, you will get a view of the North Shore, Downtown Pittsburgh, and possibly some other locations of the Pittsburgh Area. Areas in the North Shore I found with the view in the elevator was the Carnegie Science Center, Heinz Field, PNC Park, and some other hotels I found of the view from the North Shore. Areas I found in Downtown Pittsburgh was UPMC Tower, BYN Mellon, Gulf Tower, Kopper's Tower, and many more. Also, this elevator talks and laser 3-D sensors included also the restaurant is fancy and according to TripAdvisor, this restaurant is ranked 14 out of 1,917 restaurants in Pittsburgh. Food is really good here and I went here for my mom's 50th birthday today. I highly suggest this restaurant if you come to Pittsburgh whenever anybody gets the chance.

North Park Lake Kayaking and gathering wild apples from kayak (8/2017)
This was an evening kayak trip I took in early August 2017 at North Park Lake. I collected the best apples I've ever tasted by knocking them off the tree that was growing sideways across the lake near the boathouse. I then fished them out of the water put them in my kayak, took them home and ate them. The abundant precipitation this summer produced more wild fruit than I have ever seen in my life. The sunset is always amazing on North Park Lake, especially with the old Boat House in the Background (kind of looks like a stone castle)
