Middle Georgia Raceway Byron, Georgia 3DR Solo Flight Over
Opened in 1966 at a cost of $500,000, the first race, the Speedy Morelock 200 NASCAR Grand National stock car race, became the location of a speed record when Richard Petty broke the half-mile NASCAR record for half-mile tracks with an average speed of 82.023 miles per hour during the 100-mile (160 km) event. The next year, federal agents discovered a moonshine distillery in an underground bunker at turn three. Petty returned to win the 150-mile (240 km) NASCAR race during the following season.[1]

Middle Georgia Raceway
My 30 second video of NASCAR's forgotten racetrack: Middle Georgia Raceway. PLEASE READ OF HOW I GOT IN BEFORE CALLING ME A TRESPASSER AND I SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
HOW DID I GET IN?
A elder gentlemen at the gold driving range (adjacent from Middle Georgia Raceway) saw me with a camera and asked me if I was taking pics, I told him yes, I've heard about the racetrack and heard about the moonshine distillery. He told me that if I take my truck to the entrance, I can get in. My vehicle is green and it camouflages against the trees, which makes it great to blend in with the environment. I eventually got in without incident, I walked up the gravel roads where the vehicles go in and walked up the hill and looked at the 1 mile racetrack: abandoned, grass growing between the cracks, and he told me if anyone gives me problems, I would call the office (referring to his office in case if anyone spots me inside), I took photos of all turns, views from the stands, and great possible shots.
If anyone were to be spotted inside without permission from the owner of the track or anyone from the driving range, they will be asked to leave the property or get a ticket for trespassing from the Peach County Sheriff's Office. If you want to visit, VISIT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Get permission from the guy that owns the place, not the Sheriff's Office. His name is Tim Thornton of Thornton Realty. I basically got permission from the man that rents the driving range and I was told if anyone were to give me problems, call the office. He will rent it out for filming or events, but you must provide insurance to cover him.
Located off of Industrial Highway and U.S. 41 in Byron, GA sits a fenced in 1-mile racetrack of Middle Georgia Raceway, first opened in 1966. The track was shut down due to a moonshine distillery in a underground bunker at turn 3, I tried locating it, but no avail, I had no leads of the bunker or know where it is. Richard Petty won 4 times at Middle Georgia Raceway, Bobby Allison 3 times, David Pearson and Bobby Isaacs only 1 time. The soybean farm adjacent to Middle Georgia Raceway held the 2nd annual Atlanta International Pop Festival featuring the names of Jimi Hendrix and Macon's own Allman Brothers Band. A Georgia Historical Marker sits across Middle Georgia Raceway in 2012
In 2011, Dodge and Chrysler brought back the old Middle Georgia Raceway to life by filming the 2012 Dodge Durango, the commercial took 10 days to film. Halfway through the year, Jack Ingram was on the racetrack to auction off his car.
I have decide not to monetize this video, I did this video to spread awareness of all abandoned racetracks all over the United States of America. Many racetracks are left forgotten, grass grows through the cracks, overgrown brushes grow and walls age as the paint fades. Walking through Middle Georgia Raceway feels like walking through a ghost town and history. Middle Georgia Raceway was once a popular race track, but shut down due to the government finding a moonshine distillery, now it sits abandoned, awaiting it's fate. I really hope that the racetrack does not get demolished in any way. There's so much history behind it.

SUMMARY
=======
American cuisine reflects the history of the United States, blending the culinary contributions of various groups of people from around the world, including indigenous American Indians, African Americans, Asians, Europeans, Pacific Islanders, and South Americans. Early Native Americans utilized a number of cooking methods in early American Cuisine that have been blended with early European cooking methods to form the basis of American cuisine. The European settlement of the Americas yielded the introduction of a number of various ingredients, spices, herbs, and cooking styles to the latter. The various styles continued expanding well into the 19th and 20th centuries, proportional to the influx of immigrants from many different nations; this influx nurtured a rich diversity in food preparation throughout the country.
When the colonists came to the colonies, they farmed animals for clothing and meat in a similar fashion to what they had done in Europe. They had cuisine similar to their previous British cuisine. The American colonial diet varied depending on the settled region in which someone lived. Commonly hunted game included deer, bear, buffalo, and wild turkey. A number of fats and oils made from animals served to cook much of the colonial foods. Prior to the Revolution, New Englanders consumed large quantities of rum and beer, as maritime trade provided them relatively easy access to the goods needed to produce these items: rum was the distilled spirit of choice, as the main ingredient, molasses, was readily available from trade with the West Indies. In comparison to the northern colonies, the southern colonies were quite diverse in their agricultural diet.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, Americans developed many new foods. During the Progressive Era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, c. 1890s–1920s, food production and presentation became more industrialized. One characteristic of American cooking is the fusion of multiple ethnic or regional approaches into completely new cooking styles. A wave of celebrity chefs began with Julia Child and Graham Kerr in the 1970s, with many more following after the rise of cable channels, such as the Food Network and Cooking Channel, in the late 20th century.
