An Active Travel Nightmare - The Black Cat roundabout North Wales
An acid test of Welsh Goverment's commitment to encouraging walking and cycling. This busy traffic hub pivoting on the A55 Expressway and the A470 is high risk for cars, let alone cyclists, walkers, and the disabled. The off-road Conwy Estuary Strategic Route, brilliantly conceived in 2006 to link key settlements including Glan Conwy, remains unconnected to the latter. This must be remedied without delay if the Wales Active Travel legislation is to be seen to deliver on its vision and promises.

Welsh Lines Preserved - Railfilms
Almost alone among enthusiasts of the time, Manchester clothing manufacturer James Boyd, partly through schooling, partly through natural inclination, started taking an active interest in these obscure byways, and began in the 1940s to chronicle the history of the Ffestiniog Railway and other systems; after it closed he was first to examine ways of reopening it.
