Rougham Airfield Museum & Flight on to Fenland
Video tour of the Watch Tower Museum at Rougham and onward flight of four to Fenland.
John had been caught out by the weather the day before, flying Danny to collect his new RV3. I flew John to Rougham to collect his RV4. Danny wanted to join us in his new toy and his father Dave, joined us in his Grumman AA5.
As a bonus the Piper Club were holding a fly in at the airfield at the same time.
* Camera problem - The Go Pro cameras divide continuous filming into a number of files. For some reason camera 2 only recorded the first two files and not the third? (Does anybody have an answer to this?)

Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum
The living museum of the North UK
Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum is an open-air museum located at Beamish, near the town of Stanley, County Durham, England. The museum's guiding principle is to preserve an example of everyday life in urban and rural North East England at the climax of industrialisation in the early 20th century.
Much of the restoration and interpretation is specific to the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, together with portions of countryside under the influence of industrial revolution in 1825. On its 350 acres (140 ha) estate it utilises a mixture of translocated, original and replica buildings; a huge collection of artifacts, working vehicles and equipment; as well as livestock and costumed interpreters.

CRHnews - Hurri-bomber photo tribute Hangar 11 North Weald aerodrome
If there is a Famous Four of the most important allied fighter aircraft of World War II, then the cream of allied fighter technology must undoubtedly include the Supermarine Spitfire, the North-American P-51 Mustang, the Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk. . .
. . . and surely, the unsung hero of the Battle of Britain, the legendary Hawker Hurricane.
This aircraft, born of the famous Hawker design stable, was the creation of the great Sydney Camm and was his response to the RAF's urgent requirement for a low wing monoplane fighter to balance the threat from Nazi Germany and its re-armament during the mid-1930's.
Currently, there are only twelve Hurricanes in airworthy condition throughout the world; this is in spite of a total production of some 14,231 aircraft in the period from 1937 to 1944.
Surviving Hurricanes in flyable condition are therefore amongst the rarest of all warbirds.
Our example, originally built in 1942 has been restored to stock Mk IIB fighter-bomber status, the only flying example of the famous 'Hurri-bombers'.
The history of our aircraft is one which begins at the Canadian Car & Foundry Company factory in 1942 as construction number: CCF/R20023. CCF produced some 1,451 Hurricanes under license in the early years of World War II.
On completion, this Hurricane joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a home based fighter for the duration of the war.
At the end of her military service, she was refurbished to 'as new' condition and then sold off to the private sector, as were most surviving RCAF Hurricanes at that time.
Many became much needed 'hardware stores' donating their parts to keep the tractors and machinery running on the many enormous farms of the Canadian prairie.
Our aircraft was lucky and remained substantially whole, re-discovered by Tony Ditheridge in Canada in the 1990's with most major components intact.
Returning to the UK, restoration work began in earnest in 2005 at Hawker Restorations facility in Suffolk.
The comprehensive restoration was completed in January 2009 and saw this rare Hurricane rolled out in her fighter-bomber configuration resplendent in the markings of BE505, a Manston based Mk IIB operated by 174 (Mauritius) Squadron in spring, 1942.
Her first post-restoration flight took place from North Weald on January 27, 2009.
Since then, BE505 has joined the Hangar 11 Collection and has become a firm favourite at air displays, representing as she does such a rare version of this famous and much-loved classic British fighter.

Unofficial High Speed Tour of the National Museum of the USAF Pt 1.
Yes, it’s more guerilla footage, this time of one of the best aviation musea I have ever been to.
For those new to the High Speed Tours, the primary purpose is to let you see what is there, and then decide for yourself if you want to make the trip to see it properly. No footage, no matter how good, can substitute for a visit.
Seething
Three of us flew to the old Liberator base at Seething (EGSJ) in Norfolk (UK) A lot of airfields were not able to accept visitors due to water logging but tarmac runway and hard taxiway made it an ideal destination for an impromptu Nayland Squadron outing.
RAF Seething as it was is 9nm SE of Norwich and was the home of the 448th Bomb Group USAF. The control tower museum is open on the first Sunday of each month:
