Northern Arts & Cultural Centre (NACC) & the National Arts Centre (NAC)
Northern Arts and Cultural Centre Fundraising
Dear Friend of NACC, I am contacting you because we need your support. We are fundraising to help complete the recent renovations at the NACC theatre in Yellowknife. This is a $1.6 million project and the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre has raised $1.5 million. In order to reach our goal, we decided to organise a fundraiser on December 19th 2012. There will be a performance with the violinist Timothy Chooi, hors d'oeuvres, wine and a live and silent auction. We are hoping to collect as many donations as possible. Your support can make a big difference and will benefit the whole community as the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre belongs to everyone. The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre (NACC) has a record of success in getting performances off the ground in the Northwest Territories for almost 30 years. Celebrating new works in various art disciplines, your cultural centre combines artistic trends through a program lead by brilliant performers. From Yellowknife to Norman Wells, Norman Wells to Inuvik and Hay River to Fort Smith or Fort Simpson, the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre is a wonderful vehicle for dialogue between cultures and generations. We want to highlight and showcase major artists as well as emerging unique talents. The North is a cultural and artistic mixture that is characteristic of the performing arts. We invite artists and audiences to join us to discover intriguing and unique perspectives. We are pleased to welcome you to a fresh, new theater. Thanks to NACC staff, NACC's Board of Directors, Heritage Canada, and the Government of the Northwest Territories, we have new theatre seating. We also have new carpets, a new loading dock, upgraded backstage areas and new office space. The acoustics of the venue have been improved and will make you appreciate even more the quality of the performances. We thank you for your support and know there are Angels among us.

After returning to Yellowknife after sharing his sympathy with Mother Nature at Enodarogi. Looking back, it was like a dream. I left behind and found a glass craft. Come on in. Come in and see. Welcome to the Old Town Glass Craft Center. I make glass bottles as new works through glass crafts. These are all made from glass bottles. The Yellowknife Old Town has a private workshop and stores for local glass craft artists. Among them, glass craft workshop is popular because it is possible to experience. Carefully cut an abandoned glass bottle to make it look like you want. Many people challenge because they can create only one work in the world. The broken glass is delicately trimmed and reprocessed. It's good to learn the process of making. The result is very neat, so I want to make it myself. It's a plane floating on the aurora. It's time to put a pattern on the glass. First draw a sketch and put it on the cup. It is a task to color the cut part. Various colors can be carved. The pattern they chose represented Snowy Canada in white. My husband likes dogs and I will make a cup of dogs. And I'm gonna call it Yellowknife. It's a secret to my husband. The recycling bottle is a wonderful souvenir of Yellowknife.

Life Change Level 1 & 2 doing Sally
After our two separate Life Change Level 1 & 2 classes finished their workouts, they joined up to do “Sally”!
Whether you’re someone who has never done a day of exercise in their life, or a former athlete looking to get back in shape, this program can be adapted for anyone, regardless of your starting fitness level.
This is a 6 week program based on exercise 4 times a week, in a class based atmosphere, and comes with a nutrition plan that was created and designed by Yellowknife dietician Pulse Nutrition YK ($200 value). You will receive a complete plan with seven days of example meals, recipes, along with tips for max results.
Classes are Sunday at 5:30pm, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm. We know that not everyone can make every class throughout the week, so we have also set aside Saturday's at 10:30am for makeup classes, or if you're a keener, you can put in a fifth day of work.
Life Changes is defined as altering a person's life or circumstances in a substantial way! The definition could not be more perfect in describing our intention while designing the Life Change Program.
Too many weight loss and fitness programs on the market today target individuals looking for the fastest and easiest way to fitness and healthy body weight. Unfortunately, too few of these same programs give the consumer the tools to maintain that healthy bodyweight and lifestyle.
Life Change Yellowknife isn’t a boot camp, it’s not a diet plan and it’s not a “quick fix”. Life Change Yellowknife is a way of life and the start to a new beginning. If your goal is to lose weight and get in shape, that’s great! Our goal is to get you to yours and help you maintain it for the rest of your life!
