Ryan Hall's ballet masterclass
A new career in ballet may beckon for Leeds Rhinos' Ryan Hall - but the free-scoring winger isn't quite ready to swap the pitch for the stage just yet!
Hall was learning some dance moves from the experts at Northern Ballet as part of the Rhinos efforts to support the Leeds-based company. The club has signed up to sponsor a dancer in an attempt to help the UK's best-loved ballet company keep its full complement of 40 dancers.
Northern Ballet launched its Sponsor a Dancer campaign in response to a 15% cut to its core funding for 2012 to 2015, when government funding cuts were announced in March 2011. The campaign has been received very positively and to-date has already raised over £60k from individual donors.
The campaign invites support from members of the public, private donors, companies, trusts and foundations to sponsor a dancer of their choice. Levels of sponsorship range from £30 to £10,000 per year and benefits include signed photos, updates from the sponsored dancer, theatre seats, opportunities to see their dancer in rehearsal and meet them after performances, regular e-newsletters and invitations to special events.

We've Got It Coming - Susanne Thomas - Möbius Dance
Where do you stand? What do you stand for? Where do you draw the line? When do you speak up? Möbius Dance asked themselves questions of how to live, respond to, or survive in a political and social landscape that is marked by on-going gender and racial inequalities and neoliberalism. Some might say we live in a traumatizing society. Is this a time of great urgency or opportunity?
