Queensland Rainforest Scuba Experiences
Queensland has long been known as a top destination for exploring the wonders of the rainforest and amazing diving. Now divers can have the best of both worlds as the two combine to offer a scuba experience in the crystal clear waters of a rainforest with the chance to come face-to-face with one of the world's most elusive creatures.
The highlight of this underwater attraction in Finch Hatton Gorge is a possible encounter with an Australian icon, the platypus - one of the world's only egg-laying mammals. The platypus has for years fascinated animal lovers and researchers with its bizarre combination of a duckbill, webbed feet, beaver tail and egg laying characteristics.

Cairns Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Cairns – The gateway to tropical North Queensland. Check out the best places to visit in Cairns and be on your way to the great outdoors.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Cairns:
#Cairns is a small port city with access to a bounty of natural beauty. This eastern Australia city is where the rainforest meets the reef, with Daintree Rainforest to the north and the Great Barrier Reef to the east.
Start your #vacation in Cairns with some of the open parklands in the city center or by going for a short swim in the man-made lagoon. Rent a bike on the promenade or hit the waves at Trinity Beach for a surf. A trip on the Skyrail® Rainforest Cableway is Cairns #sightseeing at its best. The cable car will take you over the canopy of tropical rainforest and waterfalls.
At Hartleys Crocodile Adventures take a boat ride through a swamp-like habitat where several of the reptiles live. Cairns tours should always include a stop to the Cairns Tropical Zoo, where you can make some kangaroo and koala friends.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Barefoot Tours - Cairns - by grasshoppertravel.com
Let us whisk you away on a tour through some of the most beautiful locations around the Atherton Tablelands, you'd be a fool to miss out on these sights! Swim in volcanic crater lakes, take a dip under breathtaking waterfalls and slide down a natural waterslide! If you're not a fan of water, don't worry, there's still plenty for you to see and do. Check out loads of awesome photo opportunities or just relax with a bit of sunbathing. Have morning and afternoon tea hanging out with your new friends, and enjoy lunch mixing with the locals at a proper local Aussie pub! To try and keep tour costs down, we don't include lunch in the price, but the most expensive thing on the menu is around $10, or of course you can bring your own lunch if you prefer.
Our guides have all been involved in tourism and tour guiding for many years and have travelled extensively throughout the world in this time, finally settling down in one of their favourite places, Cairns in the beautiful Far North Queensland. Cairns has so much to see and do, you'll soon see why we at Barefoot Tours love it so much!
Our guides are all first aid trained, and are all excellent swimmers with experience in water safety, so if you tend to impersonate a rock while swimming, don't worry, you're in pretty good hands.
At Barefoot Tours, we love nature, and can't wait to share it with you, in an eco-friendly way.
If you're keen to come along, contact your local agent, book online or give us a call. We look forward to seeing you on the bus!

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, Cairns, North Queensland with deja.vu
Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is about 25 minutes North of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The purpose built zoo is an excellent example of an eco-tourism business that truly has it heart in the right place.
We were welcomed and shown about the facility by Drew, keeper and employee of over 20 years who's passion for wildlife and conservation was demonstrated in each of his words. As we wandered the park he demonstrated a deep knowledge of the Australian wilderness and the origin of many Australian species. We also had the pleasure of watching a number of the shows, some presented by Drew and some by others. All were informative right down to the afternoon Crocodile Attack Show where the intimately sized audience had the opportunity to see Northern Australia's most fearful preditor in full action while also learning much about their behaviour.
Elsewhere, there are Quolls, Snakes, Cassowaries, Koalas, Wallabies and other. There is more than can reasonably be taken in during one day as we experienced. Hartley's overcome this with the offer for people to return for free on the following two days. That's great value and a great opportunity to learn much more you would in a day trip, particularly for children.
