Holman Husky Alta Norway
We came to Alta for 8 days hoping to see the Northern Lights. We were lucky on the first night to see a moderate showing. Whilst here this was one of the activities we had pre-booked.. I was driving the dogs and my wife sitting on the sled holding my Panasonic HC-X920. The intelligent stabilization does a great job of fixing her woblblycam work but all credit must go to Holman Husky for making this such an unforgettable experience. They supplied all the cold weather kit and you just had to jump on the sled that was moored up like a boat to stop the over excited dog team from jumping into action as soon as they saw us punters walking onto the yard. Cuddling the dogs and sitting round the fire afterwards is all part of this fantastic 11 out of 10 experience. Hope this little video gives a taste of the hour-long drive that we took around the beautiful snow-covered uplands of Alta.

Holmen Husky Lodge, Alta, Norway
My thanks to the Holmen Husky Lodge near Alta in Norway for one of the best experiences of my life.
Husky Sledding In Alta Norway with Holmen Husky
Alta, the City of the Northern Lights, is nestled at the end of Altafjord, far up in the north of Norway. Just outside this arctic town, you’ll find Holmen Husky.
One of the best experiences of my life and would highly recommend you give it a try if visiting Alta. The dogs are all well cared for and clearly enjoy the rides and they were all approachable and very friendly. Great place, great people, great dogs and fantastic thing to tick off my bucket list.

???????? Norway: amazing husky safari and aurora experience
This video shows our experience with dogsledding in Norway.
We spent 3 days in the far north-eastern part of Norway, Kirkenes, close to the Russian border. The snow was covering every surface around us and the average temperature was -20C.
Over this time of the year the sun never fully rises and the light is the same as at either sunset or sundwan for 3/4 hours. After that, it is pitch dark (which could be quite decieving!!).
During the 3 days we spent in the wilderness we were tasked with few jobs (thankfully!) both to keep up busy and to fully live the experience: setting up the sleds, get the dogs to wear the harnesses, feed the dogs, cuddle the dogs, break ice on the river to fetch water for the cabin, make our own BBQ in the snow and so on.
These are only some of the activities necessary when sleeping in a cabin without water and electricity. The whole trip has been a bit out of our comfort zone (as you may have noticed watching our other videos): you can blame it on those amazing loving dogs, you can blame it on the northen lights, on the local hospitaly but it was just and simply magical! Something we would deffo reccomand to everyone!

TOP things to see on Northern Lights Cruise - Aurora Borealis
This Northern Lights cruise is rated as one of the best cruises in the world. This is the best way to see the northern lights and to enjoy the Norway coast. Hurtigruten is a shipping company that offer this amazing cruise which is a great way to explore the Arctic sky and the incredible Northern lights, the Aurora Borealis. This cruise is one of the best ways to explore the mesmerising Norwegian Coast and the world famous fjords.
There are 34 stops along the way. We visited some of the most amazing cities and towns along the Norwegian coast:
-Bergen: The cruise starts in Bergen, Norway's second biggest city after the capital, Oslo. Bergen is considered the gateway to the fjords. It boats the home of Edward Grieg, Norway’s most famous composer. The Bergen Funicular allows you to take a ride on Fløibanen cable car to the Fløyen mountain and lookout point. This gives you the best views of Bergen.
-Ålesund: We explored the Art Noveau town of Ålesund, this pretty town has an incredible lookout point. It’s a bit of a walk with over 400 stairs, but the effort is well worth it.
-Trondheim: Trondheim has an amazing gothic cathedral called the Nidaros Cathedral. There is a beautiful canal with colourful wooden houses along each edge. The canal can be traversed by crossing the beautiful Old Town Bridge.
-Tromsø: This beautiful city has an incredible Arctic Cathedral which is in an unusual triangular shape. Tromsø has a cable car or aerial tramway called Fjellheisen which takes you to Storsteinen mountain some 400 meters above sea level. This is one of the most beautiful views of Tromsø
-Arctic circle: On this cruise you cross into the article circle and spend a number of days there. We hardly saw any sun.
-Kirkenes: This is one of the northern most towns in Norway. At this stop we explored the Snow Hotel: Snowhotel Kirkenes Bjørnevatn Website: SnowhotelKirkenes.com. The Snowhotel Kirkenes has a Husky Safari which is an incredible arctic adventure and a great way to enjoy a husky dogsled.
