EPIC MOUNTAIN RUNNING IN BERGEN, NORWAY
Vlog from a really nice day in Bergen and some epic mountain running with Elin.
Oslo to Bergen, Norway by Train through the mountains and Boat through the fjords
We’re going to take you on one of the most spectacular train rides in all of Europe: starting in Oslo, we’re heading cross-country through fascinating mountain terrain, passing lakes and rivers and waterfalls, and then by boat through a vast fjord, finally we will be arriving later in the day at the ancient capital of Norway the town of Bergen. This special trip is called Norway in a Nutshell. Showing you a big cross-section of the country in just one day.

The scenery keeps getting more spectacular as we climb through the central regions of Norway, getting a little bit like Switzerland with tall mountains in the distance and glaciers, with lakes where the water is clear blue color.
We change trains mid-way at Myrdal and board the Flam railway which is one of the most scenic rides in Europe. It travels about four miles from the mountain tops down through seven lush valleys to the waters below in the Sognefjord, Norway’s largest fjord. There we catch a boat to Bergen through the Sognefjord. There's lots of great scenery during the boat ride, with the mountains towering high above on both sides of this chasm.

Flying into Bergen - Gateway to the Norwegian Fjords
I'm in Norway and this time it's the town of Bergen, known as the entrance to the Norwegian Fjords. We visited the fish market, went on a mini-Fjord cruise, visited an Ice Bar and even got to check out the famous Cornelius Sjømatrestaurant.
Thanks to P & O Cruises for arranging this epic trip.
Special thanks to Emilie for the amazing footage!

Fløibanen Funicular - Bergen, Norway - full journey down
The Fløibanen funicular railway is one of Norway's most popular attractions.
It connects the city centre of Bergen with the mountain of Fløyen, with its mountain walks and magnificent views. If you spend a few days in Bergen, it's highly likely you'll go on the funicular for the amazing views alone.
The journey takes less than 6 minutes and and the top of Mount Fløyen there's a great children's playground and several mountain walks.
The trip starts from the city centre, just 150 metres from the Fish Market and Bryggen and rises approx. 320 metres above sea level to Mount Fløyen, approx. 320 metres above sea level
The Fløibanen funicular runs daily from early morning until 11 p.m. during the the year. The funicular has easy access for prams/pushchairs and wheelchairs.

NORWAY'S MOST EPIC TRAIN TRIP ???? - OSLO TO BERGEN
The Bergen Railway ride from Olso to Bergen is one of the most scenic and beautiful rail rides in the world. The train travels for seven hours across some of Europe's highest plateaus, with spectacular views of Norway's scenery.
It passes through waterfalls, raging rapids of Voss, snowy peaks of Finse, and then the gateway to the fjords, Bergen. The scenery went from green fjords to winter white landscapes.
Once we reached Bergen Station, it was time to see the beautiful city of Bergen. The top activity in Bergen is the Ulriken Cable Car, which takes you to the top of Mount Ulriken, one of the seven mountains surrounding the city of Bergen. There are spectacular views of the harbor and the city center from above.

Oslo to Bergen, Norway via Train
This may be one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. I was so tempted on several occasions to pull the emergency brake and hop out and take pictures and run around with child-like joy and abandon.

Cycle Norway Bergen to Vossevangen
Cycled from Bergen to Vossevangen this year. It was a unplanned cycle as the bike turned up late, so instead of heading north to Alesund I had to change the route because of the extra cost incurred. But it`s a pretty stunning cycle all the same. I arrived in Bergen on the 1st June, I was supposed to leave on the 3rd, but never left until the 6th. On a cycle tour you really need to hit the road running and any delays really can knock you. The camera angle isn't as good as it should have been on the 1st two days but I soon sorted it as soon as my head had cleared. I start the video with a intro that shows what`s coming up then give you a bit of my time in Bergen. Then the cycling begins, so give it time to kick in, or move it on if that's not your scene. I took a drone with me and got some really good shots until carrying on the luck from hitting Bergen that went into a river!! My own fault but what a sore one that was!! But you cannot kill a stunning cycle with some bad luck. The weather in this part of Norway in June is hit and miss, so a couple of days were spent in a tent waiting for some heavy rain to move on, but as soon as it passed Norway becomes such a beautiful country to cycle with a lot of challenges, but worth the effort, it really is. In the video I mention the guy who drew me maps, but on the 1st day just before setting up camp I was speaking to a local female cyclists who when she met me I was a bit shell shocked and was struggling a bit, she gave me her water and told me about the garage up ahead thanks appreciated. This part of Norway is stunning the whole area anywhere near Bergen you can stick a pin in a map and you will have a great cycle and some stunning scenery. The day I lost my drone I was at Norheimsund, like I said it was a hard blow, but later on that evening I cycled along the Hardanger Fjord in what felt like a early Spring evening rather than a Summer one. It was just so beautiful, with the cool fresh air and the long evening, it soon lifted my spirits. But that's Norway for you, makes you work for your rewards, It can put you through the ringer...But it was worth it.....
Skyrunning in Bergen, Norway
Running in the snow across the mountain plateau overlooking Bergen, Norway. The capital of the fjords. An epic run, just days after I had to turn back due to severe wind and snow.
