Vemork

Vemork er en kraftstasjon nær Rjukan i Tinn kommune i Telemark fylke. Bygget av Norsk Hydro og åpnet i 1911. Under den annen verdenskrig og senere ble her produsert tungtvann. Lokalene inneholder nå Norsk Industriarbeidermuseum.

Vemork hydroelectric power plant near Rjukan in Telemark. The plant was built by Norsk Hydro and opened in 1911. The plant also produced heavy water during world war II and later. Today the old power station is used as Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum.

Motorcycle trip Norway: Rjukan Day 1 of 2

Tree day motorcycle trip visiting Gaustadtoppen and the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum in Rjukan. The museum is perhaps best known for its presentation of Rjukan's war history.
Day 1 is only transportation. Unfortunately my camera went out of power before arriving the camp. Day 2: I am visiting Vemork, and Gaustabanen, a combined tramway and funicular, which will carry you up to 1800 meters above sea level. Built by the Norwegian military.

Første tur inn i Tungtvannskjelleren, Vemork 2 - First trip in The Heavy Water Basement at Vemork 2

Part 2 - The excavation of the famous Heavy water Plant Basement where the world know Heavy water sabotage took place in World war 2.
This is the first trip inside for media and sponsors to a basement which is remarkable well kept after blowing up the factory.
This will now become a museum.
