Urnes Stave Church Norway A Rare Look Inside Norway's Urnes Stave Church for scouting photo
Urnes Stave Church Norway A Rare Look Inside Norway's Urnes Stave Church for scouting photo Stave churches are considered to be among the most important examples of wooden Medieval architecture in Europe. In the Middle Ages, there were probably more than 1,000 stave churches in Norway. Today, only 28 remain, including Urnes stave church, which is included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.A stave church is made of wood, and the construction is made out of poles (staver in Norwegian), hence the name. Most of the remaining stave churches in Norway were built between 1150 and 1350. In the middle ages there were similar types of churches all over North-Western Europe. In Norway there was a tradition for using wood in artwork as well as in constructions, and this lead to the development of a unique technique that the stave churches are a perfect example of. The decoration is a fascinating mix of both Christian and viking symbolism.Due to the Black Death and the reformation, many stave churches disappeared. In 1650 there were around 270 stave churches left, and during the next 100 years 136 of them disappeared as well. Today only 28 of them remain - many in Fjord Norway.Norway's oldest stave church is Urnes stave church in Luster in the Sognefjord area. The church from around 1130 is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and belonged to a rich family. It is richly decorated.Borgund stave church in Lærdal (around 1180), also in the Sognefjord area, is the most visited and most photographed church. It is also the stave church that has been the best preserved, and several runic inscriptions have been found on the walls of the church.

About me:
My name is Eivind, I am a thirty six year old Norwegian guy living in Oslo, Norway. I am quite new to the YouTuber travel vlog sphere, but hope that you find my videos cool, and as time pass by I hope you see my content getting better and better. My goal is trying to enlighten and brighten your day by giving you interesting videos about traveling, meeting people and eating food from all different kinds of cuisines. Another thing that I want is to break down barriers of travel and prejudices of foreign countries and cultures. My opinion is that most people and cultures are friendly, but unfortunately sometimes media gives a biased view.
Usually my travels goes to places that are a bit out of the beaten track, like smaller cities or just less known cities, where I explore the neighborhoods or head into the nature. If possible, I`ll bring my drone also, but this has become more difficult in recent years due to strict regulations. I will also try to make some videos about my home country Norway, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
On my travels I like to connect with the local people. Usually I do this via Couchsurfing, either just by meeting up with people to explore together or by actually staying at their place. I also wander aimlessly around in places talking to random people.
I do host a lot of people in my place in Oslo, maybe someday it will be you.
One of my biggest passion in life is food. And when cooking and eating together with nice people it`s the best. I make some videos together with some of my guests, these are really fun to make and I also learn to make new dishes. Maybe you can come cook with me?
Another thing I try to is enlighten people about the environment, especially the plastic problem we have all over the world. In almost every country I go to there is garbage all over. I film it and put it in some videos here and there. As a tip for you, try to pick up one piece of plastic everyday, and of course, never throw any in the first place.

Northrop F-5A/RF-5A Freedom Fighter are light multi-role fighter/reconnaissance aircratf from the United States.
The first F5A took off from Edwards Air Force Base on July 31, 1963. The Northrop aircraft factory built altogether 617 F-5A and 183 F-5B aircraft. In the late 1960’s, they also built the RF-5A photo reconnaissance plane. When the Norwegian Airforce decided to replace its F-86 Sabres, the Northtop F-5 was chosen as its successor. Norway purchased altogether 108 F-5’s, 78 F5-A’s, 14 F-5 B’s and 16 RF 5-A’s. These aircraft put in almost 35 years of service in the Air Force, during which they underwent a number of upgrade programmes. 336 Squadron at Rygge Air Base was the last division to use the F-5, and the planes were withdrawn from active service in the summer of 2000.
The museum has two Freedom Fighter aeroplanes in its collection. One is a fighter plane (see lower picture) and the other a reconnaissance plane (see upper picture).
The Norwegian Aviation Museum is the Norwegian national museum of aviation.
The nuseum (Norsk luftfartsmuseum) was opened by King Harald V on May 15, 1994. The building is shaped like a huge propeller and contains both a civil and a military collection of aircraft
The exhibitions at the museum are the result of a co-operation between The Norwegian Aviation Museum, the Norwegian Air Force Museum and the AVINOR Museum.
The Norwegian Aviation Museum is centrally situated in the city of Bodø in Nordland, North Norway.
The museum conveys an intimate experience of aviation and its fascinating history, with the help of impressive exhibitions spread across an area of approximately 10,000 m2.
