Indian architect Sandeep Khosla explains the importance of outdoor learning at DPS Kindergarten School in Bangalore, India, which won the education category at Inside Festival 2013 in Singapore.
DPS Kindergarten School by Khosla Associates is a prototype for a series of school buildings to be rolled out across southern India.
The brief was to really create a typology that could be repeated and adapted to further schools in the region, says Khosla. We used exposed concrete as the starting point and we created a very modular system that can be expanded vertically as well as horizontally. So the inside of the classrooms are basically the stripped-down materials of the architecture.

Toy Fighter [トイファイター] Game Sample - Arcade
Toy Fighter is a little-known fighting game developed by Anchor Inc. for the successor of the Sega Model 3 hardware, NAOMI ( or New Arcade Operation Machine Idea). Comprised of concepts from former Sega, Namco, Genki and DreamFactory works, the game combines them into a simple to learn but hard to master fighting game with a few unique mechanics. The core gameplay can best be described as Fighters Destiny but with Toys, which is pretty neat as I always did like its (FD) system. In the game, nine toys fight against each other (forced by their handlers) to see who has what it takes to face the reigning toy champion (Toy King, who looks suspiciously like Mazinger Z) and become the new king of toys.
Each character has a variety of strengths, weaknesses, and secret moves that can be used to execute combos, juggles, evasive maneuvers, and more. Characters have five heart points which can be depleted depending on the type of attacks characters use. Straight-up fighting and knockdowns deplete one point, throw downs take two points, and special Bomber Attacks deplete three OR all of a health bar if blocked. Throws in the game, just like in FD, can be escaped or reversed with proper timing and the timing differs depending on the throw, character position, and stance. Much like FD and Ehrgeiz, throwing can become quite an exciting spectacle, especially in conjunction with the game's Catch system, where you can deflect attacks with the right timing (even in air, though failure imparts a steep penalty and more juggle potential for the opposition).
Some attacks in the game also leave various color-coordinated particle trails that denote their general purpose. Red are power strikes and generally unblockable not to mention can often be used to juggle opponents. White/Yellow are swift attacks that are good for countering. Blue is another swift attack that can be used for countering but can also deal extra damage if timed right, fake out opponents, and some even have hidden extensions like Tobal 2 and Ehrgeiz's Just Frame maneuvers. One character, Peet, has an infinite spin kick that earned him his own Japanese fansite and other characters like Nejibird and Cymbals are high-tier characters. If you can't fight fair, you can always fight dirty (attack before the fight starts). Blocking functions much like Kensei: Sacred Fist and uses realistic evasive motions for more dynamic on-screen action. The game also has a Ring that follows players and can be used for fighting purposes.
Outside of the play mechanics, the game is a little rough around the edges with a generic interface and unappealing characters, but is a great game otherwise that is deserving of a current-gen reboot. The game was originally planned for a Dreamcast release (you can even see a bad-looking Sonic and Dreamcast as you go between stages) but was ultimately cancelled. Good move? Bad Move? I don't really know, but at least you can get an idea of what could've been the start to an interesting series with good ole' Toy Fighter. This is video showing the game in action. Enjoy.

...I was looking up stuff about Ryotaro Okiayu (Zero's Japanese voice actor) and came across one song entitled Usamimi Kamen, the theme song of the hero of the same name in the anime Onegai My Melody. The idea of Zero running around in pink with bunny ears while fighting in the name of love and dreams made me lol, which lead to this.

I always like a bit of history with my entertainment. You see here Hideyoshi and some of his main retainers including his Seven Spears. Most interesting, we get a good look at Ishida Mitsunari (characterized here as a bad battle commander). He eventually led the losing Hideyori side at the battle Of Sekigahara. All but one of the Seven Spears betrayed him in that battle.
