Phuket: 2014 Koh Racha Yai Scuba Fun Dive First Wreck Dive GoPro (unedied)
My second dive with South Siam diving in Phuket is off the coast of Racha Yai. We already did a dive at Bay 3 with an artificial reef created from large square blocks. Our dive at Bay 1 has a submerged small ferry boat, which will be my first wreck dive,
The water here is insanely clear. You have 30m+ of visibility which is pretty unheard of. It is crystal. Around the wreck are a handful of scorpion fish and puffer fish and bucket loads of smaller fish. There are dense shoals of small fish everywhere. Really fun dive around 25m depth.
After much milling about we finally penetrate the small wrecked craft. First time inside an underwater wreck and already I identify a few bad habits to get rid of: swinging arms around. Mental note to purchase a pointer to lean on. There were a lot of fish hiding inside the open spaces as I imagine they would be. Kind of a small craft but still gave me a rush of actually getting to do something fun other than chasing reef fish around.
Look forward to diving King Cruiser out by Koh Phi Phi and Shark Point when I get a few more dives under my belt. These two dives at Koh Racha Yai puts me to 8 dives whoo!! I should really pick up advanced when I get back to BKK...gawd knows how long that will be hahahaha.
Thailand Sailing Catamaran Amadeus. Cabin Cruise to Phukets Southern Islands
A typical join in sailing cruise on the catamaran Amadeus sailing from Chalong Bay on a 6 day-5 night cruise to the Southern islands off Phuket:
Day 1 – Transfer from the airport or from your hotel to Chalong, where the ship is moored. At 10:30 AM, you can board the Amadeus and settle into your cabin. After an orientation by the Captain, the Amadeus sets off at 11:30 AM.
In about two hours, we will reach the Koh Mai Thon Island, where you can enjoy the warm, clear waters of the Indian Ocean.
Then you will have your first taste of our chef’s delicious cooking. After lunch, we will set sail again, this time for Ko Phi Phi Don. Tonsai Bay, the main bay in Phi Phi island is not a quiet and tranquil place
There you can wander through the streets, have a drink at a bar, or relax with a massage. In the evening, enjoy a wonderful dinner aboard the ship. This will be our first overnight location.
Day 2 – Anyone feeling energetic to walk to the viewpoint? One needs to go early, before it gets hot and the steep steps will get you out of breath, but you will be rewarded with an amazing view of the two large Bays.
You will return to the yacht and breakfast will be waiting for you before we set sail for Kantiang Beach in Ko Lanta, This is one of the larger islands and it offers great beaches and the island is covered with natural forests inviting you for a scenic walk to a water fall. After you return, we sail a bit further South to a secluded anchorage and here we have a great small restaurant with excellent Thai cuisine. This will give you the chance to eat out for a change and experience real Thai hospitality. (The dinner and drinks on shore are not included in the price)
Day 3 – On this day, breakfast will be served while we sail. Our destination: Ko Muk Island.
Here you can visit the Emerald Cave, where a breath-taking surprise awaits you.
Once again, we will hoist our big sails, and with good wind, we should reach Ko Rok Nok Island in about two hours. This area is world-famous for its snorkeling and diving, and it boasts the most beautiful beach of the Andaman Sea.
The water is crystal clear, and the range of sea life in the Coral Sea will amaze you. In the evening, we’ll set up a barbecue on the white sand, which you can enjoy under a beautiful sunset.
Day 4 – You really won’t want to leave right away. Before we set off, make sure to take one last dip in this gorgeous natural setting.
On the way to Ko Phi Phi Leh, we will stop for more snorkeling at Ko Ha. You might be able to catch some tuna for very fresh sashimi along the way.
Just in time for a spectacular sunset, we arrive at Maya Bay. This is where the film “The Beach” was shot. The bay’s main beach is closed at the moment to give the reef a chance to recover from over tourism, but we are still able to pick up a mooring and stay at this spectacular place for the night.
Day 5 – At seven in the morning, the world is just waking up. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee as you contemplate the morning light in Maya Bay. We depart before breakfast to another secluded place on the West coast of Phi Phi Don, enjoy the snorkeling and breakfast there and you can try the SUP or grab a kayak to paddle to the beach.
Later we set sail and depart for Ko Racha Yai, with the hope to spot some bottle nose dolphins which are regulars in that area. Again, the waters there are crystal clear inviting you for a swim and snorkel. We have several anchorages to choose from, all of them feature stunning beaches.
Day 6 – After breakfast, the ship will take you back to Phuket’s Chalong Bay. We will arrive around noon, and you will disembark with unforgettable memories. Of course, we will make sure get you to the airport on time, or take you to your hotel.
Phuket Big Budda พระพุทธมิ่งมงคลเอกนาคาคีรี (Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Akenakiri or Ming Mongkol)
Phuket's Big Budda พระพุทธมิ่งมงคลเอกนาคาคีรี (Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Akenakiri or Ming Mongkol Buddha) is one of the island's most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, it is easily seen from far away.
The lofty site offers the best 360-degree views of the island, with sweeping vistas of Phuket Town, Kata, Karon beaches, Chalong Bay and more.) Easily reachable via a six-kilometre road leading from Phuket's main artery route, it is a must-visit island destination.
What to Wear
Avoid beachwear, short skirts and T-shirts with offensive texts or images. If you feel you have dressed a little too daringly for a religious site, you can always ask for a sarong to cover up with. It is free of charge from the site centre.
Did You Know
a) Nakkerd Sea View Restaurant is located near the Big Buddha and is a nice place to chill out after visiting the site. The food there is reasonable in terms of taste and price and the view, of course, is wonderful.
b) The road to Nakkerd Hills is in good condition, most parts are newly built but it has many curves and some steep climbs. Some young tourists enjoy hiking up, even though it usually takes them over an hour to reach the top.
Opening Hours: From 08:00 – 19:30. If you want to catch the sunset from one of Thailand's best spots, try to be there before 18:30
How to get there: The road leading up to the Big Buddha is off Chao Fa Road East near Chalong. There are many red-and-white signs indicating where it is. Turn down Soi Yodsane and simply follow the indications for the next six kilometres up the hill. You can’t miss it.

เพราะความงามสัมผัสได้โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้แค่สายตามอง...
The Nose Thailand
.......
Cause the beauty can be seen without sight...
The Nose Thailand believes that “everyone” can create art without limitations.
We want you to try, ‘closing your eyes’ and ‘opening your mind’ to enjoy experiencing new form of art through ‘Scent’.
Believe or not? Sightless people can create various forms of art.
We invented ‘Scented Colors’ for blind artists to create artworks on whatever they inspire, also for sighted artists.
And this December, The Nose Thailand is going to exhibit all artworks created by the blind artists and the sighted artists with our scented colors for the first time.
With their works, you will absolutely sense new form of beauty with ‘your heart’

Phuket boat sinks: Divers search for missing tourists in water off Thailand
(CNN)Divers are searching the hull of a sunken boat off the coast of southern Thailand for more than 50 passengers who are missing after a violent storm Thursday afternoon.
The Phoenix PC diving boat ran into trouble off the coast of the resort island of Phuket when a storm whipped up waves as high as five meters (16 feet), crashing them against the vessel and causing it to keel over.
There were believed to 105 passengers on board the capsized vessel, including 93 tourists, one guide and 11 crew members. Many were thought to be Chinese tourists vacationing at the Thai resort.
Images from the scene posted to the Thai Navy's Facebook paged showed passengers wearing bright orange life vests on inflatable life rafts.
Police Lt. Col. Somsak Sophakarn, the deputy chief of Phuket's Chalong Provincial Police Station, said Thursday that 48 people had been rescued and taken to shore.
The Thai Navy, marine police and local fishermen searched for the remaining passengers Thursday evening, but called off their operation late at night.
They resumed their search again Friday morning, dispatching helicopters, fishing vessels and divers to scour the waters.
