The Akita is a large breed of dog originating from the mountainous northern regions of Japan.
There are two separate varieties of Akita: a Japanese strain, known as the Akita Inu or Japanese Akita; and an American strain, known as the Akita or American Akita.
The Japanese strain comes in a narrow palette of colors, with all other colors considered atypical of the breed, while the American strain comes in all dog colors.
The Akita has a short double coat, similar to that of many other northern spitz breeds such as the Siberian Husky, but long coated dogs can be found in many litters due to a recessive gene.

Ferdinand Krish - Doll (Puppet) Foxtrot
Recording by Ferdinand Krish of Doll Foxtrot - Moscow 1938
Ferdinand (Ferdinandovitch) Krish was born in 1878. His family name implicates Latvian origin (though it is questionable). Krish probably started his artistic career back in fin de siecle times. Whilst his main instrument was violin, he was featured as an accordion (concertina) player in Orlansky-Titarenko Concertino Band as early as in 1903-1906. In pre-revolutionary 1910s, he was leading small restaurant outfits, and yet was respected in classical circles as a violinist. No wonder that in the days of the Revolution Ferdinand Krish was playing in quite noticeable String Quartet. Noticeable to such an extent that the Bolshevik Minister of Culture and Education, Anatoly Lunacharskii, foisted a new name upon them - Lenin's String Quartet. As soon as this happened, Krish was dismissed from the ensemble, for no certain reasons.
Later in 1920s, Ferdinand Krish was leading popular dance bands in Moscow. His name was mentioned once in connection with Aleister Crowley, who (while on his tour with the Ragged Ragtime Girls) frequented The Hermitage Garden, where Krish and his orchestra were performing at the time. By 1929, Krish was leading a 30-piece pit-band at The 1st Art Cinema Theatre located on Arbat Square in Moscow, and not before long was appointed a musical director of the All-Union Radio Concert Orchestra. Since that moment on his career as a bandleader was focused primarily on broadcasting and recording. The Krish Orchestra started recording approximately in 1930 (unlike their Western counterparts, Russian labels were indicating the name of a vocalist but not necessarily the band). The increasing popularity of the Krish's Concert Orchestra seems to reach its pinnacle in 1938-1939, when most of their finest and memorable recordings were cut. Some researchers argue that in fact the band consisted mostly of session musicians, more often than not employed on full-time basis in other prestigious ensembles, such as GABT (Orchestra of Bolshoi Theatre) or VRK (The First Radio Symphonic Orchestra).
In wartime, Ferdinand Krish moved to Novosibirsk. It happened so that Oscar Feltsman, later a prominent Soviet composer, while in evacuation to Novosibirsk was appointed a bandleader of one of the local orchestras. To his utter surprise, he found Ferdinand Krish... among his violin players! Feltsman most immediately invited the renowned maestro to take over his baton, but Krish resolutely refused. And indeed, he was quite an old man by that time.
Nevertheless, by the end of the war Ferdinand Krish returned to Moscow and made a comeback by producing a series of those unmistakably Krish-flavoured orchestral recordings (on tape and tune-film, mostly), from 1946 till his death in 1948. All in all, Krish's recording oeuvre comprises about 200 records (with more than half of them on shellac).

Dr. Peter Beter Audio Letter 78: Beirut; Pentagon; Russian Weapon- August 27, 1982
Dr. Peter David Beter - Audio Letter 78 - August 27, 1982
Text:
MP3:
(1) The surprise halt to the Beirut holocaust
(2) Final Pentagon plans for surprise nuclear war
(3) The Russian surprise weapon for nuclear defense
Hello, my friends, this is Dr. Beter. Today is August 27,
1982, and this is my AUDIO LETTER(R) No. 78.
On the first day of this month of August 1982, a heart-rending
symbol of the Beirut holocaust appeared in newspapers all across
America. It was a wire-service photograph of a nurse in hospital
in East Beirut cradling a small seven-week-old baby in her left
arm as she fed it from a bottle. From the tip of the tiny nose
upward the baby's head was swathed in massive bandages covering
eyes and all. The little shoulders were wrapped in still more
bandages. Where there should have been a pair of infant arms,
there was nothing. The baby's arms had been blown off by an
Israeli artillery shell landing near the Green Line separating
East and West Beirut.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case
the picture was worth a thousand sobs. Here was a tiny Lebanese
baby, a brand new human life, ruined before it could even get
started. The picture was a poignant object lesson about the
senseless tragedy of war; at least that is how most people
probably reacted when they saw it.
But the reaction of the Begin government in Israel was far
different. When the picture was brought to their attention they
wasted not a word on trivial matters like simple human
compassion, sympathy, or regret. Instead they lodged bitter
protests against the wire services and newspapers who had
published the photo. There was great concern over the public
relations impact on Israel resulting from that photograph.
Demands were made that retractions be printed about the Israeli
responsibility for the baby's grievous wounds; but to their
credit, wire services here refused to make any retractions. It
had been established very firmly that Israeli bombardment had
caused the tragedy.
To most of us far from the scene, that picture of a tiny baby
horribly maimed for life may appear exceptional. But the fact is
that the plight of that child has been repeated countless times
in the Israeli rape of Lebanon.
Recently this was illustrated by the observations of a
Presbyterian minister affiliated with Princeton Theological
Seminary. The minister happened to be in southern Lebanon when
the invasion began on June 5 and remained in Lebanon for several
weeks into the war. Recently he described what he witnessed in a
talk in Ohio.
The minister had seen for himself areas where the Israeli
onslaught had caused not hundreds but thousands of deaths, mostly
of civilians! He also described the strenuous Israeli efforts to
cover up the extent of the carnage and hide it from the outside
world. In more than one case Israeli bulldozers have even dug
pits, shoveling in piles of bodies and covering them over. But
the most nightmarish scene he described was one where a great
number of children had been killed and maimed. He had come upon
the scene when the cleanup had just begun. He was shown a room
piled high with fingers, hands, legs, arms, and other parts of
children's bodies.
Here in the United States the sheer enormity of the Israeli
atrocities in Lebanon is being censored out. When we hear about
disgusted Israeli soldiers leaving the front and returning to
Israel to protest the war, we are unable to fully understand why.
But elsewhere around the world the news media are less hampered
by the strait jacket of Zionist and Bolshevik censorship here in
the United States, and what they are reporting is in full
agreement with those personal observations by the Presbyterian
minister. [...]

SUMMARY
=======
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), commonly known as the Soviet Union, was a socialist state in Eurasia that existed from 30 December 1922 to 26 December 1991. Nominally a union of multiple national Soviet republics, its government and economy were highly centralized. The country was a one-party state, governed by the Communist Party with Moscow as its capital in its largest republic, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (Russian SFSR). Other major urban centres were Leningrad, Kiev, Minsk, Alma-Ata, and Novosibirsk.
Extending across the entirety of Northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union had spanned eleven time zones and incorporated a wide range of environments and landforms. From northwest to southeast, the Soviet Union shared land borders with Norway, Finland, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. It shared its maritime borders with Japan by the Sea of Okhotsk and the US state of Alaska across the Bering Strait. With an area of 22,402,200 square kilometres (8,649,500 sq mi), the Soviet Union was the largest country in the world by area, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area, and the third most populous, with over 288 million people as of 1989, with 80% of the population living in the western, European part of the country.
The Soviet Union had its roots in the October Revolution of 1917, when the Bolsheviks led by Vladimir Lenin overthrew the Russian Provisional Government which had replaced Tsar Nicholas II during World War I. In 1922, the Soviet Union was formed by the Treaty on the Creation of the USSR which legalized the unification of the Russian, Transcaucasian, Ukrainian and Byelorussian republics that had occurred from 1918. Following Lenin's death in 1924 and a brief power struggle, Joseph Stalin came to power in the mid-1920s. Stalin committed the state's ideology to Marxism–Leninism (which he created) and constructed a command economy which led to a period of rapid industrialization and collectivization. During this period of totalitarian rule, political paranoia fermented and the late-1930s Great Purge removed Stalin's opponents within and outside of the party via arbitrary arrests and persecutions of many people, resulting in over 600,000 deaths. Suppression of political critics and forced labor were carried out by Stalin's government. In 1933, a major famine that became known as the Holodomor in Soviet Ukraine struck multiple Soviet grain-growing regions, causing the deaths of some 3 to 7 million people. In August 1939, days before the start of World War II, the Soviets signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact agreeing to non-aggression with Germany, after which the two countries invaded Poland in September 1939. In June 1941, the pact collapsed as Germany turned to attack the Soviet Union, opening the largest and bloodiest theatre of war in history. Soviet war casualties accounted for the highest proportion of the conflict in the effort of acquiring the upper hand over Axis forces at intense battles such as Stalingrad and Kursk. The territories overtaken by the Red Army became satellite states of the Soviet Union and the postwar division of Europe into capitalist and communist halves would lead to increased tensions with the West, led by the United States of America.
The Cold War emerged by 1947 as the Eastern Bloc, united under the Warsaw Pact in 1955, confronted the Western Bloc, united under NATO in 1949. On 5 March 1953, Stalin died and was eventually succeeded by Nikita Khrushchev, who in 1956 denounced Stalin and began the de-Stalinization of Soviet society through the Khrushchev Thaw. The Soviet Union took an early lead in the Space Race, with the first artificial satellite and the first human spaceflight. Dissatisfied with Khrushchev's policies, the Communist Party's conservative wing led a coup d'état against Khrushch ...

SUMMARY
=======
The Soviet Union, officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), was a socialist state in Eurasia that existed from 30 December 1922 to 26 December 1991. It spanned over 10,000 kilometres (6,200 mi) east to west across 11 time zones, and over 7,200 kilometres (4,500 mi) north to south. It had five climate zones: tundra, taiga, steppes, desert and mountains.
The Soviet Union had its roots in the 1917 October Revolution, when the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, overthrew the Russian Provisional Government which had replaced Tsar Nicholas II during World War I. In 1922, the Soviet Union was formed by a treaty which legalized the unification of the Russian, Transcaucasian, Ukrainian and Byelorussian republics that had occurred from 1918. Following Lenin's death in 1924 and a brief power struggle, Joseph Stalin came to power in the mid-1920s. Stalin committed the state's ideology to Marxism–Leninism (which he created) and constructed a command economy which led to a period of rapid industrialization and collectivization. During his rule, political paranoia fermented and the Great Purge removed Stalin's opponents within and outside of the party via arbitrary arrests and persecutions of many people, resulting in at least 600,000 deaths. In 1933, a major famine struck the country, causing the deaths of some 3 to 7 million people. Before the start of World War II, the Soviets signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, agreeing to non-aggression with Germany, after which the USSR invaded Poland on 17 September 1939. In June 1941, Germany broke the pact and invaded the Soviet Union, opening the largest and bloodiest theatre of war in history. Soviet war casualties accounted for the highest proportion of the conflict in the effort of acquiring the upper hand over Axis forces at intense battles such as Stalingrad and Kursk. The territories overtaken by the Red Army became satellite states of the Soviet Union. The post-war division of Europe into capitalist and communist halves would lead to increased tensions with the United States-led Western Bloc, known as the Cold War. Stalin died in 1953 and was eventually succeeded by Nikita Khrush ...

Russians dominated the Soviet regime.
