In Ghana, craftsmen traditionally look to the Christmas season as a time of bumper sales for their hand-made cane and bamboo baskets.

Customers often buy the baskets to make hampers as gifts.

However this year the basket weavers say a downturn in the economy has translated to a downturn in sales.
