Exploring Japan: Numazu Port
Japan as an island country is famous for its sumptuous seafood dish. If you want to experience fresh seafood, restaurants near costal area are the go-to destinations..
Numazu City is one of the costal city in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture. Suruga Bay which is the deepest bay in the world provides the city with its abundant supply of seafood. Numazu Port is home to a number of seafood restaurants in the area. If you happen to be in this part of the region, it is the best place to go for an authentic, delicious Japanese seafood experience.

This city is so beautiful and amazing, the anime influences, the people, and, of course, the natural beauty of the surrounding environment. I decided to checkout Numazu in Shizuoka, Japan on a day trip! Numazu is a port town, which is known for dried fish? Sounds exciting? huh!?
Numazu isn't too far from Odawara where I was staying, but about 3 hours normal train ride from Tokyo!
I mentioned about the Orange card they use here, but my iPhone decided to destroy itself near the end of the day..so I couldn't show how to use it. But if you use the Suica, then the train guards will help you out.

Are you a big Love Live fan? especially Love Live Sunshine and Aqours?
This place is probably a dream comes true for you. Thanks to Love Live Sunshine anime series, Numazu, a city in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, became famous for anime pilgrimage.
Anime pilgrimage is a term used by anime fans for people who visited places in real life that appear in anime or manga, or we can say as real life anime location.
Besides all the Aqours and other otaku stuffs, Numazu is still a humble city with calming atmosphere, a typical Japanese life in not metropolis area.
I planned to extend this video into next episode (the port area is next, because Love Live Sunshine is a very sea based anime.

今日のグルメリポート。
伊豆半島の大瀬崎に海水浴に行く前、沼津港に寄っておいしい朝ご飯を食べてきました。
静岡の有名な漁港の一つですからねぇ。
海鮮関係のお店がたくさんあります。
テレビなどで放送される有名で行列ができるようなお店もありますが、たいてい10時頃の開店なので朝食の時間には開いていません。
なので、以前行ったけどやってなかった「ずう」さんでいただいてきました。
ココは早朝から営業しています。
きっと港で働く人たちを相手にやっているんでしょうねぇ。
だって、お昼にはお店は終わっちゃうらしいもん。
お店の外観はこんな感じなもんですから、知らないとなかなか入れないよねぇ。
やってるときとやってないときの区別はのれんだけのようです。
中も広くはないです。
あたしたちは、海鮮丼と金目の煮付け定食をいただきました。
目の前がね、漁港なんですよ。
太平洋で魚取ってきてここで水揚げしてるんですよ。
そしてね、そこで働いている人たちに食事を提供しているお店なんですよ。
ねっ、もうわかるでしょ。
この辺の店では、おいしくない魚を出す方が難しいんじゃないでしょうか？
ご飯の後、ちょっとだけ「沼津 みなと新鮮館」に寄ってみました。
食事ができるお店やおみやげのお店などがあります。
なんかおいしそうなエビを揚げていたのでいただきます。
想像通りの味でおいしかったです。
この後、大瀬崎で海水浴をしてきました。

The Numazu harbor is a fishing port in Shizuoka.
This harbor is a leading fish catch in Japan.
We ate breakfast here.
There are many restaurants which offer a fresh fish.
But many restaurants are open for lunch.
So we chose this restaurant that is open from early morning.
The name of a restaurant is Zuu.
Here are closed around noon.
It will be the target restaurant to offer breakfast for those who probably work in a harbor.
I ate KaisenDon.
KaisenDon is the food which is many kinds of sashimi fishes on the rice.
Sashimi is thinly sliced raw fish.
Japanese people love to sashimi.

【4K】Windy day in Numazu, Shizuoka
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
I was asked to go to Numazu multiple times and now I did it. It was filmed next day after Niiigata and same day as Atami video.
Not sure is it just such weather or place itself, but it was very windy.
I walked from the station through the city, along the river, to port where I got to the top of sea gates.

伊豆へ海水浴に行きます。
沼津に一泊するので夕食は沼津港で。
巨大なかき揚げが人気の丸天に行きました。
とにかく生魚をいっぱいいただきました。
そして伊豆なのでキンメの煮付けがおいしかった。
そして巨大かき揚げはムリなのでゲソ揚げを注文しました。
そしたらなぜかここのゲソ揚げは甘いのね。
たっぷり魚地獄を味わいました。
I go to Izu.
I stayed for one night at Numazu which is I.
So I have dinner at Numazu harbor.
The restaurant is Maruten where huge Kakiage is popular.
I ate many raw fish.
And Izu is famous in Kinmedai.
That was very good seasoning.
I can't eat a huge Kakiage.
So I ordered deep-fried squid tentacles.
It was so sweet for some reason.
I tasted fish hell.

Numazu is located at about 100 km southwest of Tokyo, which was loved and frequented by the Imperial families in four generations until 1969 for its mild climate as well as beautiful coastline.
Exploring Japan: Numazu Water Gate
The Numazu Water Gate View-O is a flood gate and observatory. It was built to protect the port from large tsunami cause by an earthquake. In an event of an earthquake of more than intensity 6, the gate will automatically come down within 3 minutes.
The door of the gate is 40 m wide, 9.3 m high and it weighs 406t. Overall, the observatory gate is 30 m high, the same height as a 9 story building.
