Raising a Glass to Beijing's Bars -- Rice Wine | Megan Zhang
The history of rice wine in China dates back millennia. Now, it seems a renaissance is upon us! Chinese people are rediscovering their love for this ancient drink, and with some modern twists, the beverage is taking on a new identity. Let's just say Nuoyan Rice Wine Bar made my sweet tooth sing.
This is the second segment of Travelogue's episode, Raising a Glass to Beijing's Bars, in which I explore unique watering holes that represent China's evolving liquor and wine culture.

Old Beijing Food Dinner Food Tour that includes Donkey Meat!
We took a kid friendly food tour in Beijing with a company called UnTour food tours. The tour took us through the old Hutong's of Beijing for 3 hours at night and we made five stops along the way for unlimited portions of food, beer and beverages.
Our local guide was Celia and she was awesome! Celia was born and raised in Beijing and lived in the United States for eight years. Her enthusiasm about food and Chinese culture was infectious and everyone had a great time. My 4 year old daughter has been asking us to go back on a food tour each day while we are here in China!
The tour took us to a variety of restaurants that are only known by locals. 5th brothers chicken wings is extremely exclusive and you can only get in with a reservation. You can only get a reservation if you are a local. Watch until the end to see the fifth brother serve us up some of his famous barbecue chicken wings!
We also visited a restaurant that served traditional Mongolian hot pot, we had a rice wine tasting, we ate donkey burgers and biang biang noodles!
I cannot recommend this company enough! The communication was amazing the booking process was simple and professional and they offered tours for breakfast and dinner in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Chengdu.
You can book them here untourfoodtours.com
