Australia has many nature reserves and Nurragingy is one of them, We went here for a picnic on Sunday and had a great time, I totally loved this place, It has many Gardens and my favourite is the Chinese Garden.

Nurragingy Reserve - Beautiful place for wedding and picnic

The Nurragingy Reserve is an open urban park and nature reserve, complete with unique features including a native wildlife park, Chinese garden and conference centre for business meetings and varying functions located in Knox Rd, Doonside and Rooty Hill, New South Wales, Australia.
The name Nurragingy commemorates one of the two aborigines of the Dharruk (Dharug, Daruk) tribe who received the first land grant to natives from Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1819. The other title holder was Colebee, whose name has been given to the Centre within the Reserve. A painting by local Aboriginal artist Danny Eastwood, depicting this land grant hangs inside the Colebee Centre.

Nurragingy Reserve -Doonside

Nurragingy Reserve , ever gone to a park and found that the barbeque is dirty, vandalised or a massive line waiting for it, well you won't be disappointing here. At Nurragingy there are 10 wood-fired bbqs available for use with wood supplied, so don't go cutting down trees. There are also many electric BBQ, you Just need to check for fire ban notification before you leave home. There are 5 large shelters you can hire from Blacktown council. Toilets, play equipment and playgrounds are scattered throughout the reserve, the best being the splash park, so don't forget to bring your swimmers. Make sure you visit the Chang Lai Yuan Gardens as well for great photos. (check out our review on Chang Lai Garden)

Trip to Lake Gillawarna - Milperra N.S.W.

On a lazy Sunday my wife and I took her 99 year old father on an outing in his wheelchair to Lake Gillawarna, near Milperrra and Bankstown Aerodrome. This is a popular picnic place in South Western Sydney where often large gatherings of the Arabic Community enjoy their weekend barbeques. Just walking through the park smelling the kebabs and chicken cooking can soon have you salivating.
To get to the park next to the Georges River, from the City, take a right turn at Henry Lawson Drive after passing Bankstown Airport. From South simply turn left before Bankstown Airport.

Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens - Nurragingy Reserve

Located in Nurragingy Reserve Doonside NSW Australia. Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens were completed in 2012 as part of a friendship agreement between Blacktown City Council and Liaocheng municipality located in China. It is a popular location for family picnics, exercise and weddings.
