Nyoho-ji Temple in Ozu - Ehime - 如法寺 - 4K Ultra HD
Nyoho-ji Temple was originally built by the lord of Kita-gun, Utsunomiya in the Muromachi period (1336 ~ 1573). Closed for several centuries, it was only in 1669 and under the second lord of Ozu Domain, Yasuoki Kato that the temple as we know it today was re-opened.
Nyoho-ji Temple was a family temple of the lords of Ozu Domain, the Kato Family, as well as Ryogozansokeiin. Seven lords were buried at the grave site: the second lord, Yasuoki, the third lord, Yasutsune, 4th lord, Yasumune, 5th lord, Yasuatsu, 7th lord, Yasutake, 9th lord, Yasutoki, and 12th lord, Yasutomi.

Tamba Kokubun-ji Kameoka - Kyoto - 仏教寺院 - 4K Ultra HD
A remnant of a once larger temple from the Jodo sect and first built during the 8th century, Tamba Kokubun-ji is one of many Kameoka City major cultural properties as well as been designated a national historical site. Too often ignore by tourists, foreign or not, Tamba Kokubun-ji is a gorgeous little temple where time stands still.
Inside Kokubunji Temple grows a native ginkgo tree which has earned the name of Chichi Icho (Mother's Breast Ginkgo) and has long inspired the devout worship of women. Because this tree has been known to attach its seeds to its leaves, it is also called the Ohatsuki Icho (Leaf-sticking Ginkgo).

Ozu Castle - Ehime - 大洲城 - 4K Ultra HD
Ozu Castle, also known as Jizogatake Castle, was originally constructed in 1331 by Utsunomiya Toyofusa. However, the structure as represented now was built sometime between 1585 ~ 1617. During this period, the castle was controlled by a number of lords.
In 1888 the keep was destroyed by a fire, though the two towers or Yagura, that were connected by corridors to the keep were saved. What remained of the castle survived World War II, even though the surrounding castle town was firebombed. In 2004 the keep was re-constructed, along with the corridors that connected the keep to the yagura.

Osorezan Bodai-ji Temple - Aomori - 恐山菩提寺 - 4K Ultra HD
Alongside Koyansan and Heizan, Osorezan or the Mount Osore, is one of the three most sacred places in Japan. Over 1,000 years ago, a Buddhist priest in search of a mountain resembling the world of Buddha, stumbled upon Mount Osore and its unique landscape, which, according to the legend, was like discovering the world of Buddha itself so he decided to erect the Bodai-ji Temple.
Rich with volcanic activity and a strong sulfur smell, Osorezan is said to be the entrance to the afterlife, where dead souls pass through before being sent to Hell or paradise. Osorezan is also very popular among Japanese for its Bodaiji’s festival where mediums try to help people to communicate with their loved ones.

Oyabu Onsen in Ozu - Ehime - 小薮温泉 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the heart of Ehime prefecture and within Ozu’s city management, Oyabu gorge is the definition of a natural wonder. Discovered only recently in 1876 during the Meiji period, the hot spring of Oyabu only became famous during the Taisho period which roughly corresponds to the first quarter of last century. The main building has been modified and renovated since then. Also being a Ryokan, Oyabu Onsen has quickly become a place where relaxing is the closest things to becoming art. With a gorgeous lounge with tatami mats, sliding doors, and balustraded balconies, Oyabu Onsen is a little piece of heaven, lost in the middle of Ozu’s mountain side that you need to check out if you are visiting Ehime!

Seiyo Japan Tourism. Seiyo (西予市 Seiyo-shi?) is a city located in Ehime Prefecture, Japan.
On February 1, 2012, the city has an estimated population of 42,600 and a population density of 83 persons per km². The total area is 514.78 km².
Manpuku-ji - Kyoto - 萬福寺 - 4K Ultra HD
Manpuku-ji is the head temple of the Zen Obaku sect and also located in in Uji, near the center of Kyoto. While extremely popular among Japanese people, Manpukuji was created fairly recently in 1661, only 7 years after the Obaku sect, originally from China, came to Japan.
Because of its Obaku sect origins, Manpuku-ji’s architecture is heavily influenced by the architectural style of China's contemporary Ming Dynasty, and retains a much more Chinese appearance than other Buddhist temples in Japan. Finally, but unfortunately very difficult for most of us to witness, the temple grounds are laid out in the shape of a dragon when viewed from above.

Tōdai-ji temple in Nara Japan 4k clip
El Castillo de Ozu en Ehime, Shikoku, Japón. Ozu Castle, Japan 2016
While Ozu is mainly known as the little Kyoto of Ehime, Ozu city, however, offers one of the best little Showa period repositories of products, toys and other wonders. Here you can find old Japanese candy shops, toy stores, traditional restaurants and izakayas. Pokopen Yokochou showcases the changing of times as you can see the transformation of Japan after World War II.
While Pokopen Yokochou alley may not always be open for business, the Pokopen Yokochou museum is open all week long and is, as far as we are concerned and after Garyu Sanso, one of Ozu’s best attractions!

Tokyo Meiji-Jingu - 明治神宮 - 4K Ultra HD : Located in Shibuya, Meiji-Jingu (Meiji Shrine) is a Japanese holy site dedicated to the spirit of the Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shoken. Built only recently (from 1915 to 1926), the shrine was built in the traditional ‘nagare-zukuri’ style using mainly copper and Japanese cypress.
Unfortunately, like many other buildings around Tokyo, Meiji-Jingu was destroyed during the Second World War and it is only thanks to the generous donations from Japanese citizens that the structure was rebuilt and restored in 1958.
Open to all, Meiji-Jingu is one of the most visited temples in Japan and also a place where everyone can come and celebrate their union in the purest Japanese tradition.

Sugamo Jizo-dori - Tokyo - 巣鴨 - 4K Ultra HD
Best known as the senior’s version of Harajuku, Sugamo and its Jizo-Dori shopping district give you a unique perspective on Japan and it’s senior citizens daily lives.
On this 800m long street you will find no less than 200 shops that sell pretty much everything that a Japanese senior citizen needs and loves. Of course it includes a lot of food and clothing stores but you can also find a great selection of traditional sweets including the Shio-Daifuku, a salty pounded rice cake containing sweet bean paste.
Finally, if you have the opportunity to visit this place, make sure to visit the Togenuki Jizo temple located halfway down Jizo-Dori street where people line-up to wash its sacred statue with water and towel to later press on their body to heal any pain they may have.
