JESSE HARGRAVES
Jesse Hargraves started dancing in her hometown Pickering, Ontario, and furthered her training at George Brown College where she was made dance captain and graduated from the Commercial Dance Studies program with honours. For the next two years, Jesse had the incredible opportunity to work aboard Carnival Cruise Lines where she performed several Las Vegas and Broadway styled shows. Once on land, Jesse sought out well-known teachers and choreographers in and around Toronto, Canada and the United States to learn and grow from and even had the opportunity to work professionally with a few of them. These artists include Danny Davalos, Angela Mahoney, Chris Clarke, and Shavar Blackwood to name a few.
Jesse is now a familiar face around Toronto having performed in several live performances and industrials including Sick Kids Hospital Gala, Christian Ty’s opening act for “Eddy Y Henry”, The Variety Show, Christian Ty’s song release “Strut,” and took to the stage having been a part of the very first The Cast: Heels Edition. Jesse also took it to the big screen performing for Meaghan Smith’s “Have a Heart” and appeared as one of the main dancers in Christian Ty’s “Strut” music video.
Jesse’s versatility of dance styles as well as experience both on land and abroad has changed the way she sees and envisions movement which makes her style very unique. She strives to create shapes and moments whilst digging into the music’s rhythm to capture audiences, which enable both the dancer, and the audience to feel the emotion behind the art.
