O.K Corral Gun Fight October 26 1881 Tombstone Arizona U.S.A
I have not been to the O.K Corral and Tombstone since the early 90's and i was surprised to see that it had improved. They improved the actual site, and added a live show of the lead up and the fight itself.
Whether the Gunfight at the O.K is a Hollywood creation of the American West or not, it does not matter. The fight still symbolizes the settlement of the West U.S, for American's and people all over the world.

ABOUT:
Great family fun, entertainment and food! Step into Tombstone AZ and you'll be stepping back into the rough and toughdays of the wild west. In the 1880s, Tombstone was a booming mining town that brought a rush of prospectors and miners looking to strike it rich. It also became a magnet to thieves, card-sharks, murderers, rustlers and an abundance of bad guys. Founded in 1879 by Ed Schieffelin who discovered rich silver deposits, the town grew quickly. Within two years, it became an isolated metropolitan city with two banks, three newspapers. four churches, an opera house and even a bowling alley. But the thriving streets of Tombstone became wild and wicked with 110 saloons, 14 gambling halls, several dancing halls with brothels. That’s just a small part of the excitement you’ll find here!

O.K Corral | Famous Livery | Horse Stable | Tombstone | Arizona | USA
The O.K. Corral (Old Kindersley) was a livery and horse corral from 1879 to about 1888 in the mining boomtown of Tombstone, Arizona Territory, in the southwestern United States near the border with Mexico.
Despite its association with the fight at the O.K. Corral, the historic fight did not take place within or next to the corral on Allen Street, but in a narrow lot on Fremont Street, six doors west of the rear entrance to the corral. The lot was between Harwood's home and C. S. Fly's 12-room boarding house and photography studio.

Tombstone, Arizona
Recorded April 20-21, 2017
Tombstone is a historic city Arizona. It was one of the last wide-open frontier boomtowns in the American Old West. The town prospered from about 1877 to 1890, during which time the town's mines produced $40 to $85 million in silver bullion, the largest productive silver district in Arizona. Its population grew from 100 to around 14,000 in less than seven years. It is best known as the site of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
From:
Tombstone Arizona, O.K Corral, Boothill, Silver Mines U.S.A
Tombstone the town to tough to die....probably describes it best. It seems like such a wild little town that was in the middle of know where. The violence shown in Boothill actually makes the gunfight at the O.K Corral look mild. Silver mines, Cowboys, gunfights, hangings by mob's....Tombstone had it all.
26th October 1881: The gunfight at the O.K. Corral involving Wyatt Earp
Wyatt, Morgan, and Virgil Earp arrived in the booming silver-mining town of Tombstone in December 1879. Virgil had been appointed Deputy U.S. Marshal for eastern Pima County, and within two years he had been made Tombstone’s town marshal which made him the equivalent of a modern-day police chief. His brothers also held positions related to law enforcement in the town. This put them into conflict with the Cochise County Cowboys, a loosely organised group of outlaws who had been implicated in crimes ranging from cattle rustling to murder.
Throughout 1881 the Earp brothers received a number of death threats from the Cowboys with whom there were long-running tensions for a combination of interpersonal, family and wider political reasons. The situation came to a head in the afternoon of 26 October when five of the Cowboys – Billy Claiborne, Ike and Billy Clanton, and Tom and Frank McLaury – were spotted by the Earps and their friend Doc Holliday in a vacant lot behind the O.K. Corral.
Although Cochise County Sheriff John Behan initially tried to diffuse the situation, a gunfight soon erupted. Accounts of the fight are contradictory and it is unclear which side opened fire first, but in total more than 30 shots were discharged. Of the Cowboys, Billy Clanton and both Tom and Frank McLaury killed while Ike Clanton and Billy Claiborne ran away.
Wyatt Earp emerged unscathed from the gunfight but Virgil, Morgan, and Doc Holliday were all injured. They were charged with murder by Sheriff Behan, who had witnessed the whole fight, but less a month later a justice of the peace found them not guilty.

TOMBSTONE HOME OF FAMOUS GUNFIGHTS LIKE GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL.
Tombstone is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States, founded in 1879 by Ed Schieffelin in what was then the Arizona Territory. Formerly a silver-mining boomtown and county seat, the town is most famous as the former home of a number of western gunfighters, and as the site of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Its economy today is based on tourism. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 1,569.
In the summer of 1877, prospector Ed Schieffelin was working the hills east of the San Pedro River when he struck a vein of silver ore in a high plateau called Goose Flats. While telling a soldier about his discovery, the soldier allegedly stated that the only rock Schieffelin was likely to collect in that dangerous area would be his own tombstone. Undeterred by the warning, Schieffelin filed his claim under the name The Tombstone.
The town of Tombstone was founded in 1879, taking its name from the mining claim, and soon became a boomtown. Fueled by mineral wealth, Tombstone was a city of 1,000 by early 1881, and within another year Tombstone had become the seat of the new (Cochise County), with a population between 5,000 and 15,000. It boasted such modern conveniences as refrigeration (including ice cream and even ice skating), running water, telegraph and limited telephone service, and a newspaper aptly named the Tombstone Epitaph. Capitalists and businessmen moved in from the eastern U.S. Mining was carried out by immigrants from Europe, chiefly Cornwall, Ireland and Germany. An extensive service industry (laundry, construction, restaurants, hotels, etc.) was provided by mainly Chinese and other immigrants.
Me at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, AZ
Me at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona on October 7, 2014, site of the most historic gunfight (Oct. 26, 1881) in the Old West. The shootout is said to have lasted only 30 seconds... Between lawmen Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holliday on one side, and outlaws Tom Mclaury, Frank Mclaury, and Ike Clanton on the other. It was surreal walking on the same ground as the legendary Wyatt Earp, and seeing the once bustling silver-mining town that inspired my favorite western movie Tombstone. ...Just a few places I've been.
