Milwaukee County, WI Oak Leaf Trail - Part 1
The Oak Leaf series is a 6-part series I've rode that circles Milwaukee County through scenic parkways and bridges, and goes through the suburb cities of the county until the trail circles back to where it starts.
In the first part of the series, the trailhead where I started is on 116th Street and Morgan Avenue, but can be started anywhere within the circle of it's path in the series.
The first part of the series starts south/eastbound going through the suburb cities of Milwaukee County. The trail goes through parks starting off in Greenfield, then going through parks and trails through Greendale, Franklin, and Oak Creek.
Part 1 finally ends at Howell Avenue and Drexel Avenue, and I've included in the series points of interest, such as restaurants, and service stations in case the need arises for refreshments and rest room use.
I've speeded up the video so it may be seen at a faster pace in all 6 parts of the series. Hope you like the videos!

The History Behind Milwaukee's Beloved Oak Leaf Trail
Milwaukeeans love the Oak Leaf Trail, a 125-mile escape to nature connecting the major Milwaukee County Parks. But many have not heard the history behind the trail. That's why author Jill Maher has written Milwaukee County's Oak Leaf Trail: A History. Jill joins us discuss the book, what makes the Trail unique, and we love this local treasure. Jill has a book talk at Historic Milwaukee (235 E. Michigan Street) on Friday, June 7 at 6pm. Tickets are $10 and support commitment to Milwaukee's history, architecture, and the preservation of the built environment. For more information on the Oak Leaf Trail, visit OakLeafLove.com.
Milwaukee County, WI Oak Leaf Trail Part 3
Part 3 of the Oak Leaf trail starts off at the lakefront of Lake Michigan, eventually goes through the city of Milwaukee to get to the other part of the trail; which at the beginning hooks up past The Summerfest grounds near where the Pieces of Eight Restaurant used to be.
When travelling along the roads in the city to get to the trail part of the Oak Leaf trail, I found it is much safer to turn on Maple Street eastbound to get to the KK River Trail, which leads you eventually back to the Oak Leaf trail without all the traffic (I've made a video of the trail and will upload it for all to see).
After going north/northwestbound along the downtown area of the Oak Leaf trail, Part 3 eventually ends up one of the many German biergartens along the way in the parks in Milwaukee County, which ends up in a county park (Estabrook Pkwy) between Capitol Drive and Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee.

The Oak Leaf Trail is a little flooded over
Yes, I made this as GoPro bait. :) But, this did happen. I wasn't very intelligent today, no....
-
I live in Wisconsin, USA, and do most of my riding outside of Milwaukee. Most of my riding is pave street and rail trails, but I may wander offroad once in a while.
Videos on this channel are filmed by myself using an onboard camera mounted to my helmet or my bicycle. Any music used under a Creative Commons licence, and is credited in the video. Any and all profits from these videos will go into bicycle maintenance and parts, as well as better equipment. There, I said it, I feel better.
