The public transport in Buenos Aires is very good, although crowded during rush hour. The metro here is called the Subte, which is short for Subterranean (underground). The network itself is not very large, but reaches most tourist attractions of the city, and there is a large range of bus routes and several suburban railways used by commuters. Although not in the center of the city, Belgrano is a nice neighborhood and much quieter than the main areas of the city. It is basically a residential area.

------------------------------------------------
In this brief video you can find seven little known facts about Argentina.
More information about the video content bellow:
1. The name Argentina comes from the Latin word for silver, argentum. The original European settlers believed the country was full of silver. They associated the lands of Argentina with the silver mountains legend, Sierra de la Plata, widespread among the first European explorers of the La Plata Basin. In fact the country’s formal name was the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata by the Spanish Empire, and United Provinces of the Río de la Plata after independence.
2. Argentina is subdivided into 23 provinces and one autonomous city, Buenos Aires. Each have their own constitutions, but exist under a federal system. They must be representative republics and must not contradict the Constitution. Beyond this they are fully autonomous.
3. In 1913, Argentina was the world's 10th wealthiest nation per capita. Now it's the 54th. The economic history of Argentina is one of the most studied, owing to the Argentine paradox, its unique condition as a country that had achieved advanced development in the early 20th century but experienced a reversal, which inspired an enormous wealth of literature and diverse analysis on the causes of this decline. During the first three decades of the 20th century, Argentina outgrew Canada and Australia in population, total income, and per capita income. Its decline has been the result of political instability.
4. In 1977, Argentina sent a pregnant mother to Antarctica in an effort to claim a portion of the continent. The boy became the first human known to be born in Antarctica. Emilio Marcos Palma, born 7 January 1978 is basically an Antarctican-Argentine citizen.
5. The world's widest avenue is the 9th of July in Argentina, with 14 lanes, plus 4 lanes of parallel streets. Its name honors Argentina's Independence Day, July 9, 1816.
6. Mt. Aconcagua is not only the highest point in Argentina but it is also the tallest mountain in the Americas, measuring at 6,962 m high. Many mountaineers believe it is the highest nontechnical climb on Earth. Aconcagua means “stone guard” in an indigenous dialect.
7. Tango originated in brothels in the immigrant ghetto of Buenos Aires in the late 19th century, in what is the present-day harbor of La Boca neighborhood. Various other folkloric dances popped up in other parts of Argentina, like the foot-stomping, kerchief-swinging chacarera, from the north.

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina, and the second-largest metropolitan area in South America. It is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, on the continent's southeastern coast. The Greater Buenos Aires conurbation, which also includes several Buenos Aires Province districts, constitutes the third-largest conurbation in Latin America, with a population of around fifteen and a half million.
The city of Buenos Aires is neither part of Buenos Aires Province nor the Province's capital; rather, it is an autonomous district. In 1880, after decades of political infighting, Buenos Aires was federalized and removed from Buenos Aires Province. The city limits were enlarged to include the towns of Belgrano and Flores; both are now neighborhoods of the city. The 1994 constitutional amendment granted the city autonomy, hence its formal name: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires). Its citizens first elected a Chief of Government (i.e. Mayor) in 1996; before, the Mayor was directly appointed by the President of the Republic.
Buenos Aires is, along with Mexico City and São Paulo, one of the three Latin American cities considered an 'alpha city' by the study GaWC5. Buenos Aires has the third best quality of life of Latin American cities. Buenos Aires' quality of life is ranked 81st in the world, with its per capita income among the three highest in the region. It is the most visited city in South America (ahead of Rio de Janeiro) and the second most visited city across Spanish Latin America (behind Mexico City). It is also one of the most important, largest and most populous of South American capitals, often referred to as the Paris of South America.
Buenos Aires is a top tourist destination, and is known for its European-style architecture and rich cultural life, with the highest concentration of theaters in the world. Buenos Aires held the 1st Pan American Games in 1951 as well as hosting two venues in the 1978 FIFA World Cup. Buenos Aires will host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
People from Buenos Aires are referred to as porteños (people of the port). The city is the birthplace of the current pope, Francis (former Archbishop of Buenos Aires), and of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.

The name of the neighborhood comes from the Monastery of the Recollect Fathers, members of the Franciscan Order which was established in the area at the beginning of the 18th century. They founded a monastery and a church dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Pilar with a cemetery attached. The Recoleta pathway is nearly the exact geographic center of the neighborhood, and one of its highest points in the city, which, at the end of the 19th century attracted wealthy families from the south of the city who sought to escape from the deadly yellow fever outbreak which began in 1871.

The historical center of the neighborhood is the Church of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, construction of which was completed in 1732. For that reason, the neighborhood was occasionally called El Pilar. When Buenos Aires suffered terrible cholera and yellow fever epidemics in the 1870s, the population of the city spread out to avoid the contagion. It was for that reason that, while the underprivileged classes settled in the south of the city, the most wealthy settled in the Recoleta area, where the height of the terrain reduced the presence of insects which transmitted the diseases.

This was an early area of Roman Catholic missionary activity by the Society of Jesus in what was then called the Province of Paraguay, beginning in the early 17th century. In 1984 the ruins of four mission sites in Argentina were designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
Misiones is largely covered by subtropical forest, with caiman, toucans and monkeys. Fast decomposition of organic matter gives the area a red soil with only a thin fertile layer that can easily be washed away. Misiones, a rugged province in northeastern Argentina, is home to one of the world's largest waterfalls.
