Whalewatching near Tiverton, Nova Scotia - Canada HD Travel Channel
Whale watching on a rough sea Tiverton, in the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, Canada, is the ideal place for whale watching. Tiverton is located on the west end of the Nova Scotia offshore peninsula called Digby Neck. To reach Tiverton, one must take a ferry.
On arrival, it was doubtful if we could clear the port for whale watching. In the morning, the wind in the Bay of Fundy had been very stormy and waves were high. But we were lucky to take the boat in the early afternoon.
As one sees in the video, the sea was very rough. Our guide took the hardest part. Despite sonar and radar, armed with binoculars she stood in the bow, looking out for whales.
And suddenly they were there. Slowly they maneuvered their enormous bodies through the waves. The weather at the surface seemed to care little.
Usually there are herds of humpback and fin whales to see. You can also find the Northern Right Whale as well as blue whale and minke whales.
We quickly had our eyes accustomed to scan the sea for whale blows.
The first massive tail fins compensated us for the waiting time and made the day a memorable one.

Whale Watching - Tiverton, Nova Scotia
Visit our site:
We started off our morning in picturesque Tiverton, at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, having a whale of a time. We met up with one of Nova Scotia's warm, neighbourly citizens, Captain Tom Goodwin.
It was a foggy, overcast morning but Tom assured us that in any weather we'd have a good time and see marine life. And holy mackerel was he was right!
The waters here are important feeding grounds for a variety of sea life, including whales and dolphins. We also saw lots of seals and birds and he also showed us a unique geological surprise when he pointed out the 'balancing rock' along the coast line. When Tom dropped us off at the dock we had enjoyed the fresh sea air, lots of great marine life and fun day out with skipper Tom!

Whale Watching in Nova Scotia
C and I were joined by his family on a trip to Nova Scotia. We wanted to explore a little bit of our own country and we were so amazed by how beautiful the east coast is. We saw giant seagulls, seals, whales, dolphins and balancing rocks.
Come along with us on our adventure to Canada's east coast.
