CAPLIN Rolling in BEAR COVE , LEADING TICKLES, NEWFOUNDLAND JULY 2015
Went to Bear Cove Beach at Oceanview Park, Leading Tickles Newfoundland to get some caplin; they were rolling all along the beach everywhere. Amazing to watch them come ashore like that to spawn and then most die. Now salting and drying some and putting some in baggies for winter trapping season. Those litte fish make excellent table fare when properly prepared. My favourite is half dried and smoked with wild cherry and slice of fresh homemade bread with plum jam and tea.yummmmmmmmm

Targa Newfoundland 2008 : Stage 5-6 (Marine Drive) first half
The final stage of the race. Fast and gorgeous and super-smooth - and the misfire (caused by that broken air temperature sensor wire) was so bad we were getting worried about our ability to finish.
But that wasn't really the problem. We were moving pretty quickly through a series of bends (I was trying to conserve more momentum than usual) at 1:20 when the rolled Nissan and beached Porsche came into view along with their + first aid sign. So we stopped - without rolling.

Foundering Iceberg in Twillingate Newfoundland
This video captures a spectacular view of a multi-storey iceberg breaking apart in Spillers Cove, Twillingate. Twillingate is also known as the Iceberg Capital of the World. This sleepy fishing village sees numerous of these frozen ancient giants drift down iceberg alley each year and visitors travel from afar to Newfoundland Canada to witness these awe-inspiring phenomena each year. This giant iceberg broke apart on Saturday 5 July 2008 at 3:45 pm in full view of a group of tourist specators who hiked out to the point to view the iceberg - one of the last of the season - and Mother Nature responded with this perfectly timed show. Much of the sound in the video comes from the release of trapped gas in the ice which is made up of age-old pure fresh water. More about the community where this took place at
