Jumping man in Rhyl

The Kayas - I have Been Waiting music video.
The Kayas are the most awesome band to hit British Music since man smashed rocks together and invented rhythm (after The Beatles of course...). This is The Kayas debut single I Have Been Waiting.
Written and composed by The Kayas, being recorded and filmed at the prestigious Sawmills Studio, I Have Been Waiting is the group's first entry into the UK Charts. This major release comes after the band have spent years developing their sound and playing to live audiences over the UK. Having created a catalogue of their own songs, the band felt now was the right time to release their music. Their album is due out late 2011 and promises to bring music back to its origins. Composing, writing, practising, recording and performing are the life and blood of this British band. Their choice to avoid the 'package band' tradition means their music really is their own with a unique sound that leaves behind other pre-written over processed music currently found in much of the chart.
The music video was filmed entirely on location at Sawmills by Concept Television Studios Ltd. It includes shots of the idyllic location and the studios themselves where other major artists such as Muse, Oasis, The Verve, Supergrass Ocean Colour Scene, Reef and The Stone Roses have recorded their albums - to mention a few. Working with the industries' most talented engineers, producers and directors, whilst importantly retaining their sound, The Kayas breath life into the UK Music Charts in a way that hasn't been seen since the golden brit-pop days of Oasis and Blur.
About the Music Video.
Concept Television Studios Ltd were chosen by The Kayas to produce their first music video for their major release I Have Been Waiting after a careful selection process. The Director and crew worked closely with the band, creating a non-intrusive environment where they could feel free to be creative and portray their real characters in the video. The finished peice was carefully co-edited to create an image and experience that matched both the essence of the song and also studio / live / video specific performance. The music video was shot entirely on location at The Sawmills Studio in High-Definition. Post-Production and final mastering of the video was completed at Concept Studios' own HD Avid Post Facility in Hemel Hempstead. conceptstudios.co.uk

Belfast yen There is another specialty. The building is surrounded by beautiful gardens is the Belfast Castle. Size is not large, but it is quite tasteful and Adam. In the 1860s the castle was first built interior is also quite gorgeous to have been used primarily as a banquet room of the lord and the aristocracy. Honeymoon suite for newlyweds is ahead of the wedding dress and the traditional form of marriage beds inside the castle has gotta reproduce. Belfast Castle gotta open to the public since the 1920s, close to the near 100 years and has been the most beloved wedding venues in Belfast. I wish the newlyweds happiness of numerous liver through here so far. Holding a souvenir shop located in the castle basement. Bringing a sense of something different from the entrance. Various lighting, handicrafts, painting, model toys, etc. strutting pretty appearance, is attracting attention. You can not fall into the pride of the Belfast million. It sells a variety of antiques kind. Maybe these days it's a lot of bags sold Titanic-related memorabilia. Prints, models, badges, etc. are all well get out. But the figure of the emperor golf is something wrong. The pigtails sticking plaster attached to the face of Tiger Woods. Direct from the store interior is? Yes. I will direct. Direct creates, directly and decorate it to me. Tiger Woods of the world, the sharp tip of the brush even early realist painter Anything more you can get around.

DAY AT THE SEASIDE (Sgraggitt Gets Stuck In)
As the nineteenth century progressed, British working class day-trippers traveled on organized trips such as railway excursions, or by steamer, for which long piers were erected so that the ships bringing the trade could berth.
The popularization of the seaside resort during this period was nowhere more pronounced than in Blackpool. Blackpool catered for workers from across industrial Northern England, who packed its beaches and promenade. Other northern towns (for example Scarborough, Bridlington, Morecambe and Skegness) shared in the success of this new concept, especially from trade during Wakes weeks. The concept spread rapidly to other British coastal towns including several on the coast of North Wales and notably Rhyl, and Llandudno, the largest resort in Wales and known as The Queen of the Welsh Resorts, a title first implied as early as 1864.[1]
Some resorts, especially those more southerly such as Bournemouth and Brighton, were built as new towns or extended by local landowners to appeal to wealthier vacationers. The south coast has many seaside towns, the most being in Sussex which has the title 'Sussex by the Sea.'
From the last quarter of the twentieth century, the popularity of the British seaside resort has declined for the same reason that it first flourished: advancements in transportation. The greater accessibility of foreign holiday destinations, through package holidays and, more recently, European low-cost airlines, affords people the freedom to holiday abroad. Despite the loyalty of returning holiday-makers, resorts such as Blackpool have struggled to compete against the favorable weather of Southern European alternatives. Now, many symbols of the traditional British resort (holiday camps,end-of-the-pier shows and saucy postcards) are regarded by some as drab and outdated; the skies are imagined to be overcast (although British summers from the late 1980s onwards have often been warmer and sunnier than at any other time in living memory) and the beach windswept. This is not always true; for example Broadstairs in Kent has retained much of its old world charm with Punch and Judy and donkey rides and still remains popular being only one hour from the M25.
Many seaside towns have turned to other entertainment industries, and some of them have a good deal of nightlife. The cinemas and theaters often remain to become host to a number of pubs, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Most of their entertainment facilities cater to local people and the beaches still remain popular during the summer months. Although international tourism turned people away from British seaside towns, it also brought in foreign travel and as a result, many seaside towns offer foreign language schools, the students of which often return to vacation and sometimes to settle.
A lot of people can also afford more time off and 'second holidays' and short breaks which still attract a lot of people to British seaside towns and a lot of young people and students are able to take short holidays and to discover the town's nightlife. A lot of seaside towns boast large shopping centres which also attract people from a wide area and a lot of day trippers still come to the coastal towns but on a more local scale than during the 19th century.
A lot of coastal towns are also popular retirement hotspots and many older people take short breaks in the autumn months.
In contrast, the fortunes of Brighton, which has neither holiday camps nor end-of-the-pier shows, have grown considerably, and, because of this, the resort is repeatedly held up as the model of a modern resort. However, unlike the Golden Miles of other British resorts, the sea is not Brighton's primary attraction: rather it is a backdrop against which is set an attitude of broad-minded cosmopolitan hedonism. The resulting sense of uniqueness has, coupled with the city's proximity to London, led to Brighton's restoration as a fashionable resort and the dwelling-place of the affluent.
Other English coastal towns have successfully sought to project a sense of their unique character. In particular, Southwold on the Suffolk coast is an active yet peaceful retirement haven with an emphasis on calmness, quiet countryside and jazz. Weymouth, Dorset offers itself as 'the gateway to the Jurassic Coast', Britain's only natural World Heritage Site. Newquay in Cornwall offers itself as the 'surfing capital of Britain', hosting international surfing events on its shores.
Torbay in South Devon is known is also known as the English Riviera. Consisting of the towns of Torquay, Paignton with its pier and Brixham, the bay has 20 beaches and coves along its 22-mile (35 km) coastline, ranging from small secluded coves to the larger promenade style seafronts of Torquay's Torre Abbey Sands and Paignton Sands.
Capsize on the St Helens Bar Tasmania sailing Moonlight
One of the early dinghy cruising adventures we had Sailing Moonlight ended in A capsize. We set out across the St Helens bar in Tasmania with 3 children and 2 adults in the boat in glassy conditions.
We managed to negotiate the bar itself without incident, but once out on the bay just south of the entrance to St Georges Bay, falling tide and rising swell meant we were faced with 2 meter breaking seas.
What started out as a pleasant motor across the Bay on a glassy sea became a white knuckle ride. A steep set of waves appeared out of nowhere, and the motor struggled to mount the first set. Part of adapting the Honda inboard had involved removing the governor, and making the throttle direct. The second set caused the motor to struggle as we climbed vertically, then the motor stalled.
My friend managed to restart the motor and we managed to maintain our course in the hope of breaking through into the calmer deep water beyond the bar. A third set proved too much for us. Again the motor stalled, and with no time to get it restarted I had no choice but to turn and attempt to surf in.
Exceeding the hull speed with a very small rudder meant that we were out of control, careering down the face of a succession of 2 meter wave faces. Moonlight broached and was swamped, though we remained upright.
My friend attended to the kids, all had life-jackets, and they were strong swimmers. Bits of pieces of flotsam including the rudder and the floorboards became little surf boards for each of the to surf back to shore. A frantic observer paced anxiously back and forth on the beach.
I focused on keeping the boat upright and pointed in the right direction. It was floating high enough to bail out, but the conditions made that impossible, so we rode the waves back to shore. You can read the rest of the story and how it turned out for us and ask any questions at:
Find out what happened next, and how we ended up going to sea for 2 years with our 3 kids on the MV Doulos, a cargo ship converted to a liner and built just 2 years after the Titanic in 1914

The day the tide came in (Flooding at Towyn, North Wales 1990)
This video is about the flooding of Towyn, North Wales which occurred on 26th February 1990 when the sea wall was breached. It has been compiled from footage filmed by a local resident, copies of which were produced on VHS tape. If anyone knows the identity of this person I would like to give him credit for his work. (March 2015 - I have been given to understand that the credit for this footing should go to Roland Clauw of Belgrano).
