His sister Maureen (Jayne Collins) enlists the help of his friend Paul (Andrew Ashby) to find him, although Paul is initially unwilling to help. He eventually finds Steve in an abandoned slate quarry. On their return they find the village deserted and are unaware that the village has been evacuated due to the danger of an explosion at a nearby power station. They are unable to contact the outside world as the village's only public telephone was earlier vandalised by Paul in an attempt to get money from it. Steve's father returns to the power station in an attempt to correct the problem and prevent disaster. He eventually succeeds with seconds to spare. Meanwhile, the opportunity to rob the cash and carry has not passed Mike Ellis (Dudley Sutton) by...

Coventry Theatre One cinema demolition
Brief video of part of the demolition of the old Theatre One Cinema in Coventry. Many knew it as Theatre One and the Alexandra and fondly nicknamed it the Flea Pit. It became a cinema in 1917 until 1999 when it became a nightclub. This soon folded and the building was left derelict for more than a decade. It was demolished to make way for student housing despite efforts by myself to get the building listed and transform it back into a cinema for the community. Very sad filming this.

Places to see in ( West Bromwich - UK )
Places to see in ( West Bromwich - UK )
West Bromwich is a town in Sandwell, West Midlands, England. Historically part of Staffordshire, West Bromwich is located to the northwest of Birmingham. West Bromwich County Borough was expanded in 1966 to include the bulk of Tipton and Wednesbury, while a small part of the south-eastern section of the town was absorbed into the new Warley County Borough which was centered on neighbouring Oldbury, Smethwick and Rowley Regis. The actual town boundaries of West Bromwich were also altered at this time, placing the Friar Park estate in Wednesbury, while the Hateley Heath area of Wednesbury was now within the borders of West Bromwich township.
West Bromwich's road links were further enhanced in 1995 on the completion of the Black Country Spine Road which also by-passes Wednesbury and the east of Bilston. The completion of this new road opened up several square miles of previously inaccessible land, and has allowed several major businesses to set up along the route. This has helped relieve some of the unemployment problems in West Bromwich, although most parts of the town still have the highest unemployment rates in the West Midlands.
The town is famous for its football club, West Bromwich Albion. The club was founded in 1878 and in 1888 it became one of the twelve founder members of the Football League. It won the league championship in 1920 and has won the FA Cup five times, most recently in 1968. The club were Football League Champions in 2008, winning automatic promotion to the Premier League. Albion were based in and around the centre of West Bromwich during their formative years, but moved further out of the town in 1900 when they switched to their current ground, The Hawthorns. The Hawthorns is the highest football ground (above sea level) in the country.
West Bromwich Town Hall, situated in the centre of the High Street, is a Grade II listed building. It was built between 1874 and 1875 in brick and stone to an Italian Gothic design, and its interior reflects the Victorian interest in Gothic and Medieval architecture. West Bromwich Manor House, Hall Green Road B71 2EA. Built by the de Marnham family in the late 13th century as the centre of their agricultural estate in West Bromwich only the Great Hall survives of the original complex of living quarters, agricultural barns, sheds and ponds.
West Bromwich is a culturally diverse area with many places of worship for several different religions. The Church of England provides the most places of worship across the geographically wider West Bromwich Deanery (taking in West Bromwich, Hill Top, Stone Cross, Carter's Green, Holy Trinity, All Saint's, St Andrew's, St Francis, Friar Park and others) which contains nine Anglican churches. West Bromwich has three main mosques, two on Dartmouth Street. The Main mosque of West Bromwich is the Jami Masjid and Islamic Centre based at 67 Dartmouth Street which currently is being reconstructed to accommodate hundreds of people.
For roads, the M5 motorway between the West Midlands and the West Country and its junction with the M6 motorway passes through the town, making West Bromwich at the hub of Britain's motorway network. West Bromwich railway station was opened by the Great Western Railway on its route between Birmingham Snow Hill and Wolverhampton Low Level on 14 November 1854.

Dudley Savage 4
Dudley Savage was born on 20 March 1920 near Penzance, in the village of Gulval. His mother played the organ there in the village church and taught him in their home how to play the piano. He moved on to study the organ under the instruction of organists at Truro Cathedral and with other instructors in Cornwall and Plymouth.
In 1938, as an 18-year-old, he was chosen as the organist for the ABC Royal Cinema in Plymouth which had been constructed that year and included a Compton theatre organ with eight ranks of pipes plus a Compton Melotone unit. With a break for military service, he remained at the ABC organ until the cinema was converted into a bingo hall in 1976.
World War II: Savage was called up for military service in 1940, serving in India. He was a lance bombardier prior to being commissioned as a second lieutenant on 12 August 1943, later rising to the rank of captain. After his discharge from military service in 1946, he returned to his position at Royal Cinema.
His hospital request radio programme 'As Prescribed' started in June 1948 as a weekly broadcast from ABC's Royal Cinema in Plymouth. Savage not only presented the hour-long show, but played requests on the organ from listeners who were sick in hospital or housebound. After the BBC cancelled the show following the 22 September 1968 broadcast, more than 43,000 signatures were collected on a petition submitted to the BBC, in addition to letters sent to the Chairman of Governors of the BBC and the Archbishop of Canterbury. The petition was submitted, accompanied by protesters carrying banners in what was described as perhaps the biggest demonstration of its kind the BBC has known. After a brief hiatus, the BBC reinstated it as a monthly show in 1969, continuing 'As Prescribed' for another decade, and later moving the programme to Radio 2. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1978 Queen's Birthday Honours.
He went on concert tours throughout the UK and Europe, displaying for his audiences what author and organist Jonathan Mann described as an incredibly distinctive style with a particular gift for harmony.
In response to his death, the Cinema Organ Society eulogised Savage as someone who had delighted organ fans up and down the country as well as in Europe and as one of the last surviving organists from the great days when cinema organs were to be heard constantly on the wireless.
Savage died at age 88 on 25 November 2008 at a nursing home near Liskeard after a long illness.
