Dear Fellow Game Developers and Friends Everywhere,
Will you help get my story onto the Ellen DeGeneres Show? We can do this together by sharing this article and talking about it through outlets like Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and more. This is a story for game developers everywhere!
My name is Nikolai Angergren, a young entrepreneur and game dev enthusiast. Recent events have opened some incredible opportunities for me and have opened an amazing break for developers like you throughout the world! What’s more, we now have a brand new way for us to raise awareness and funds for the great causes that inspire us!
As a result, I am asking for you to help getting onto the Ellen Show. Here is the backstory. My parents opened Odsherred Zoo Rescue in Asnæs, Denmark 20 years ago, the first rescue center in Denmark for exotic animals. But six months ago, my father succumbed to cancer.
I had invested several years into my own startup company, creating and selling online games. But when my father died, establishing the Rescue Zoo became the clear goal in my life. Both for the honor of his example and the compelling mission of caring for these wonderful animals, I stepped away from my company to devote myself to the Zoo.
Needless to say, a desire to develop games continued. I envisioned a series of two games that would explore the amazing life and memory of my father, from his early exploits as a photographer to his climactic launch of the first Zoo Rescue in Denmark. Ultimately, I aim sell these games and donate all sales income to support the Zoo Rescue. This is my mission: harnessing my personal passion for game development to achieve my ultimate passion of establishing the Zoo Rescue.
To accomplish this, I need to raise funds for creating the games. After exploring mainstream crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter, GoFundMe, Indiegogo and Patreon, I realize that only projects with significant existing resources get noticed. But I am not deterred.
Enter Play Rescue at theplayrescue.com! My passion for the Zoo Rescue cause and my father’s memory has inspired me to launch a new crowdfunding platform. It serves a compelling two-fold mission: provide dedicated, exclusive exposure for indie game developers worldwide to raise funds for their amazing projects and to raise funds for the charitable causes that inspire them at the same time.
Here is a summary of how it works:
1. Game developers submit their game ideas and promote them on Play Rescue.
2. They also agree to sponsor an inspiring cause by associating one with their game.
3. Next, they receive donations from motivated donors and develop the game.
4. Finally, they donate the proceeds from game sales to the good cause they sponsored.
It’s that easy!
As you know, I am not alone. Talented indie game developers like myself have compelling life stories and good causes that inspire our work, but sadly we often lack donor recognition. As a result, we struggle to breathe life into our ideas and support the higher causes that drive us. By sharing my story on Ellen, the amazing story of my father and the causes that his life inspired, I believe that many will discover the incredible potential of this opportunity and join with me to populate Play Rescue with fabulous game projects, ultimately raising awareness and resources for incredible causes worldwide.
