ON THE BORDER OF SOUTH KOREA AND NORTH KOREA IN A DEMILITARIZED ZONE
This is the view deck of the Odusan Unification Observatory in Paju City, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The observatory is atop a mountain, 118 meters above the sea, where one can actually see North Korea - separated from South Korea by a small river (meeting point of the Han River and the Imjin River), that is about 2 kilometers long. During low tide, they say you can actually walk to North Korea in 15 minutes! This gives the view of the cityscape of Seoul (South Korea), and a turn to the right will show North Korea. The Observatory, which opened to the public in 1992, is located in the demilitarized zone between South and North Korea (South Korea, July 9, 2016).
