Amazing Bahamas Vacation | Exuma & Nassau | Baha Mar, Swimming Pigs, Nurse Sharks & Compass Cay
Amazing Bahamas Vacation in Exuma and Nassau in the Bahamas. Exploring some of the most beautiful waters in the world. We stayed at Baha Mar in Nassau and toured several of the Exuma Cays, with stops at the famous swimming pigs at Pig Beach, nurse sharks at Compass Cay, iguanas, celebrity homes, snorkeling in Thunderbolt Grotto.
#Bahamas #Exuma #BahaMar
While on Nassau we stayed at the gorgeous Baha Mar Resort. Baha Mar is about 20 minutes to downtown Nassau where we spent time at the Queen's Staircase, toured the rum distillery and enjoyed some of the amazing beaches. Those are some of the best things to do in Nassau.
Top things to do in Exuma would include boating with Roberts Island Adventures to see the swimming pigs at pig beach. Plentiful Travel has done this twice and both times were absolutely amazing. Some other things to do in Exuma would be swinging and relaxing at Cocoplum Beach, which is about 30 minutes north of Georgetown. Cocoplum Beach is typically secluded which made it easy for us to film this travel video.
One thing to note when traveling to the Bahamas is that they charge a fee for bringing drones on the island, however, it is worth it for making a Bahamas drone video.

+Boat Tour of Exuma Cays
We rented a private tour through Robert's Island Adventures ( Seeing as I was planning on proposing to my then girlfriend, I wanted the private tour, which ran $1,500 for the day, but you could have up to 8 people. The group tours are much, much cheaper, but less intimate. Along with the private tour, you can customize it to do whatever you would like. They provided drinks for us as we made our way to see the iguanas, nurse sharks, swimming with the pigs, celebrity homes, and sandbars.
+Swimming with Pigs
Most people have heard of the famous swimming with pigs there in Exuma. Its a very unique experience and we would highly recommend it. Seeing pigs relaxing on the beach and swimming up to your boat was a lot of fun. You'll likely spend 30 minutes or so here, but you'll get a chance to swim with them and hold them while taking some pictures.

Officially on ISLAND TIME :) - Exuma, The Bahamas Day 02
It was our second day in Exuma and we hit the reset button to officially land on island time :) Chat n' Chill on Stocking Island is an absolute must when you come here!
A short water taxi ride from town drops you off steps away from the restaurant, which seems to be the only thing around leaving plenty of room for you and the whole family!
Alone it might be but fear not there is plenty to do from laying in the sun, on quite literally a picture perfect beach, to feeding sting rays and beach volleyball. Time will slip away and you won't want to leave!
PS... I do mean ISLAND TIME the drinks come quick but order your food before you get hungry it does take awhile.

Welcome to the Exumas, Bahamas!
At long last we arrive at Staniel Cay in the Exumas where we go to the famous pig beach and Thunderball Grotto. Jessica is in her second trimester of pregnancy. We had fun with the pigs and exploring the surrounding area. We left in some longer relaxing clips of underwater from Thunderball Grotto.

Ep.23 Cruising the Bahama from Abaco's to Georgetown Exuma on our catamaran
As we cruise south from the Abaco Islands to our favorite spot in Georgetown Exuma we check out Allens Cay and the beach shack that promises you free beer tomorrow haha. There are some great sailing days around the Sea of Abaco with full sail and smooth seas. Xander plays his little heart out and ends up passing out sitting down (thats a first) haha. Moma makes some bread with the help of Xander and we fly the new spinnaker from Cape Eleuthera to Georgetown non stop.
Xander: you are sure coming into your own world. Attitudes and all haha. You vocabulary is growing by the minute and your sentence structure is fantastic (thats your favorite word currently). Bed time is a little challenging sometimes as you don't want to miss every second of the day. You are a ball of wonderful energy and love your progress! Keep it up little man!

There is only one Shipwreck near George Town, Exuma, Bahamas that you can scuba dive. It is a 60 ft. Tug Boat called the Exuma Tug. The water was crystal clear and it was a great dive. There is also only one dive shop in George Town and it is Dive Exuma. Jonathan the boat CPT was awesome and he also dove with us. He is the one in the video that is not wearing fins for this dive! ADVENTURE OVERLOAD - Exuma, The Bahamas Day 03
Travel Vlog three from Exuma was filled to the brim with adventure! It started with an AMAZING sunrise that seemed to hint at the glory to come!
We spent the day on Robert's Island Adventures (none of this is paid) and they are THE boat to book and see all the sights of Exuma!
They kept us ahead of the crowds and we seemed to be the only group at the attractions when we arrived.
It's bit of a boat ride to get to the center of the action but once you're out there each stop is fairly close.
We started with Iguana Beach on Allen Cay. Remember these are wild animals but they are very chill and as long as you move slow and keep fingers away from their face they will leave you alone.
Stop number 2 was the famous big beach! This still blows my mind a barn yard on the beach?! From the biggest mama to the littlest pig there will be pigs on this beach for years to come!
Next on the list was Thunderball Grotto nothing short of magical views this place will take your breath away. You do not have to dive under to get in but the current does move quickly so time is limited here. And the boat crew will check the water before entering to make it is not to strong to enter so no worries there!
For lunch we stopped at a local favorite Lorraine's Cafe. With big patios and buffet style BBQ this is the best way to take care of big groups! The food was amazing but the service was even better Lorraine herself came by each table to thank us for dining with her before we left.
After lunch we only had 1 stop left the Sand Bar! There was only on other boat when we arrived and they left soon after! With literally nothing around I took full advantage and got the little Spark in the air asap! The sands where peaceful and the views where mind blowing.
And... Do not forget this was New Years Eve Day so we kept the pedal to the metal all the way to midnight! We are starting 2018 off in a big way with a fun filled evening with good friends, strong island drinks, and a Bahamian parade.
This was one hell of day and all I can say is Thank you Exuma!

Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park one of the best places to visit in the Bahamas
The best snorkeling spot in the Bahamas, it is hard to pick one as there are hundreds, but in this park you will find several. A family favorite is the snorkel spot called the Aquarium. Aptly named as it is like snorkeling in an aquarium. Join Barry Berhoff as we visit Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park. This top attraction in the Bahamas is a 176-square-mile known for its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages and breathtaking marine environment. Looking for a place to be on the hook, a cave to explore, or how about pirates? Yes pirates! Besides a real section of the park called Pirates lair that was a hide out for real pirates, some scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean where in the Exumas as well. The pale sand beach, where they discover – and fight over – the titular chest, is a sandbar a couple of miles south of Sandy Cay (confusingly, it’s also also known as White Cay), southeast of William’s Town, off Hog Cay. Accessible only by water, it’s a short boat ride from Little Exuma.

On the Beach Overnight - We Were Playing the Tides | Distant Shores
We are exploring the Exuma Island group in the Bahamas. Such amazing water colours! We find a shallow place where we can put our Southerly 480 on the sand and try beaching her, then wait for low tide to dry out.
We've also been testing out the Varifold 4-blade folding propeller for a year now, travelling 10,000 miles. We demonstrate how it works and do a review.

EXUMA BAHAMAS:DRIVING downtown Georgetown
things to note:
1)people drive on the right side of the road.
2)Roads around the islands are narrow.
3)If I can remember right, there are 3 round about for the whole island,
4)roads are filled with potholes
5)No rush hour traffic, only the downtown is busy during the day.
6)Downtown area is busy around 9-3pm, but busy in the sense that there are more cars than usual but no traffic in this island.
7)Is it easy to drive? for drivers from Canada and united states it would be different but it is doable. The whole island island is relatively slowpaced, we encountered minimal number of cars outside the Georgetown area.
8)I highly recommend renting a car to get around the island, our rental house came with a car which was great!
9)would I go back, definitely yes!
10)you can go around the whole island in2-3hrs depending on how fast you go.
11) The use of US dollar is widely accepted.
12)Ive seen only 1 gas station, a Scotiabank, and 2 grocery stores all are in georgetown
3 Days in Exuma, Bahamas Vlog
This is a Vlog of our 3-day trip to Exuma, Bahamas. Probably one of the most beautiful beach/island destinations I have been to. The water is the bluest I have ever seen. Our flights were from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Georgetown which cost 360 each. It wasn't a cheap flight because of it not being a large plane and not a whole lot of tourists go here versus Nassau which is packed with tourists. That's honestly what made this trip so nice because there was hardly anyone around on the beaches, restaurants or roads.
The airbnb we stayed at sleeps up to 8 people and cost $1,007 total for the 3 nights and was nice, spacious, and centrally located on the island. We probably could have booked something cheaper for the 6 of us but thought more friend were coming, however, it was nice to each have our own bed and two bathrooms :
We did the Staniel Cay Tour of Pig Beach, Iguana Island, Swimming with Nurse Sharks, Thunderball Groto, and the Giant Sand Bar for $185 each with Robert's Island Adventures. Everywhere else I looked cost $200 each for the same tour. The boat was nice and the tour went great:
We rented a van at the Georgetown airport to fit the 6 of us. You absolutely need a rental car here because the island is pretty remote and spread out. It took us about 20 minute drive to get to a grocery store but ha at least there were plenty of liquor stores close by. The service was great and the van was nice with this rental company. The van cost around $450 for the 3 days which I didn't see anything cheaper for the 6 of us:
If you are in the middle of the island near our airbnb off of Queens Highway you have to checkout the restaurant Big D's which has awesome seafood and the views were spectacular. The beach is also really nice there so bring your swim suit.
Beaches:
1. Tropic of Cancer: Really pretty beach on little Exuma. From Big Exuma drive south on Queens Highway and takes you about 40 minutes drive from Georgetown. Pretty drive that is remote and found a nice restaurant off the water close by the was further south on the main road. Don't worry there is only one main road heading North and South so it is pretty easy to find stuff and you will see signs for the Tropic of Cancer when you are close!
2. Cocoplum: This is world famous Beach with the swings in the water. Great for pictures. Head North on Queens Highway past Rokers Point. The dirt road to the beach off of Queens Highway is unlabeled so you will have to ask locals on how to get there:
