Off Road Adventure Safaris - Cape York - Virilla Beach.avi
About an hour south of the Jardine River is the turn off to Virillia beach. Only suitable for fully self sufficient campers this stunning piece of coastline is a fisherman's paradise. Be aware that the creeks are full of crocs and the coastline is home to some very big sharks. The regulars don't even consider going in the water.
Off Road Adventure Safaris - Cape York - Roko Island Pearl Farm.3gp
One of the many extras that we offer our guests is a visit to Roko Island Pearl Farm. The island is steeped in the history of the local area. Husbands beware. This stop will cost you but not as much as you would pay anywhere else.
Off Road Adventure Safaris - Cape York - Archer River.3gp
The Archer is one of the great rivers of Cape York. With it's head waters in the Great Dividing Range on the east coast of the cape it cuts it's way across the peninsula to eventually flow into the Gulf of Carpenteria.

Rule number one on the Cape: Dust Rules!!!!!!!!!!!! When you see a road train approaching slow down and get ready to stop. Most accidents on the Cape are from people who don't respect dust.

Off Road Adventure Safaris - Cape York - Exit from the Wenlock Crossing, Frenchmans Track.avi
The Frenchman's track can be one of the most difficult tracks on the Cape. Crossing the Pascoe River, which flows deep and fast should only be attempted by experienced 4wders. While the Wenlock is generally an easy crossing climbing the opposite bank can be a challenge.

Cape York 4WD travel video guide Far North Queensland Australia
We decided to take on the ultimate Australian 4WD adventure and head up Queenslands Cape York Peninsula to Australias most northern point.
There are a number of ways you can tackle this drive experience. You can take on the OTT or OTL (Old Telegraph line track) where you will experience the great remote wilderness of Australia. This track starts at Bramwell junction and finishes at the Jardine River. There are two bypass roads that allow travellers to get from the Peninsula Development Road to The Tip without having to navigate all of the creek crossings and rough roads. They pass mainly through the highlands to the east and west of the route, and are heavily corrugated which makes for a rough drive.
If you decide to take on the challenge of the OTT there are a number of creek crossings along the way, some more challenging than others. Along the way the track reconnects with the Bypass road so you can bypass some of the more challenging crossings if need be.
Palm creek, Gunshot, cockatoo creek are some of the more challenging crossings we take on, however there is some pretty spectacular places you will come across on the track like the beautiful elliot falls, twin falls and fruit bat falls all of which provide a great place to cool of or camp for the night.

We...
✓ Broke our fair share of taillights
✓ Lost number plates on 2 cars whilst completing the Frenchman's (one in the Pascoe River, one in a glorified puddle)
✓ Had a couple of inches of water inside the car courtesy of said puddle
✓ Drove hundreds of kms of corrugations
✓ Got red dust everywhere (EVERYWHERE)
✓ Stood at the tip of mainland Australia
