What 1.5 hrs of Rain does to Dirt Roads in Haiti
We got about an hour and a half of rain and this is how the roads look or worse the next morning. The good news it keeps the dust down. The bad news the roads turn to crap and are in terrible shape when it dries up... Thanks for watching! Like and subscribe if you'd like to see more in the future!

Land Cruiser in a down pour in the Haitian mountains several miles Southeast of Port-au-Prince
It takes some skill and a lot of nerve to try to drive this Land Cruiser up this slippery trail during a tropical down pour miles and miles from the nearest help. It's fun to watch too. 5/2015

Visiting Le Montcel wasn't just an excursion. It is an mandatory retreat that brings you into a world of what Haiti could be agriculturally. an ecological complex/ranch encompassing 16 acres, with 40 comfortable rooms distributed in Spanish and Canadian Cottages. The ranch has a restaurant, which sources 80% of its core ingredients locally, and organically. With countless activities to do while on site, including Horse back riding, mountain biking, soccer, and picnics, there is something to do for everyone.

STORYLINE
Desperate to boost its economy, Haiti wants to lure foreign travellers to its beaches in hopes of branding itself as a top tourist destination.
Although the beach in the town of Montrouis, 60 kilometres (38 miles) north of the capital Port-au-Prince might seem crowded with tourists, most of the people who visit are United Nations peacekeepers, aid workers, diplomats and missionaries.
Crime, health emergencies, hurricanes and the catastrophic January 2010 earthquake have badly damaged the tourism that was once a mainstay of the Haitian economy.
Visitors like Anne Fournier and her husband Sadrack Duclair are the type that Haiti is looking to attract.
The couple are tourists from Canada and they're spending 10 days on the island.
You can tell that the tourism isn't very developed yet. That's the big charm of it, Fournier said.
The Haitian government is counting on a boom in private investment in hotels and resorts, a Venezuelan-financed 13.2 (m) million US dollars airport, new infrastructure on the southern island of Ile-a-Vache, and an 8 (m) million US dollar development of the historic coastal town of Jacmel to expand the island's tourism.
The Tourism Ministry's budget has more than doubled.
Under the previous government it was two (m) million US dollars, plus a one (m) million US dollar loan from Venezuela's PetroCaribe oil fund in the aftermath of a destructive storm season.
Now it's 4.7 (m) million, and Petrocaribe is paying 27 (m) million US dollars to finance development on tourism-related projects.
Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin says tourism is key for Haiti's economic future - it generated 200 (m) million US dollars last year,
If we want to be a sovereign country, if we don't want to depend on other countries, we need to figure out ourselves how to move forward and how to get revenue, and tourism must be number on the list, Villedrouin said.
Each hotel room built creates two jobs and four indirect jobs, according to Villedrouin.
Officials say the tourism push will create more than 1,600 direct jobs and 6,500 indirect jobs.
While many in Haiti welcome anything that can create jobs, some worry that the country isn't ready for a tourist invasion.
