Places to see in ( Valencia - Spain ) Central Post Office - Edificio de Correos y Telegrafos
The Post Office Building or Post and Telegraph Palace of Valencia is a building located in the Town Hall Square . It was built between 1915 and 1922 and inaugurated in 1923, where the old fishermen's neighborhood was in part, with Las Barcas Street as a witness. Edificio de Correos y Telegrafos was subsidized by the Maura government for the modernization of postal services in Spain.
Work of the architect zaragozano Miguel Angel Navarro , is of eclectic style dominant in the official architecture. Like the vast majority of Post Office buildings of the time, the monumentality of the building is a symbol of the progress of postal and telegraphic communications in the early decades of the 20th century. Although the main facade appears symmetrical, it is an irregularly shaped building.
The sculptures of the tympanum of the arch of the main façade represent the five continents and those of the crowns that flank the clock show trios of angels bringing letters and telegraphic symbols, along with a ship and a train locomotive, set that makes an allegory of communications by land and sea. To crown the building there is a metal tower; there is a spiral staircase to access a lookout. In the interior, an oval room reproduces the same style of the facade with columns of Ionic style. The center is crowned by an artistic glasswork designed by the Mauméjean brothers, formed by 370 panels containing the shields of the 48 provinces of Spain , and in the center, made of brass , is theshield of the city of Valencia symbolizing the company Correos y Telégrafos.

Galicia - Spain
Ferries to Spain:
Galicia is an autonomous community and historic region in northwest Spain, with the status of a historic nationality, and descends from one of the first kingdoms of Europe, the Kingdom of Galicia. It is constituted under the Galician Statute of Autonomy of 1981. Its component provinces are A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra. It is bordered by Portugal to the south, the Spanish regions of Castile and León and Asturias to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Bay of Biscay to the north.
Besides its continental territory, Galicia includes the archipelagos of Cíes, Ons, Sálvora, as well as Cortegada Island, the Malveiras Islands, Sisargas Islands, and Arousa Island.
Galicia has roughly 2.78 million inhabitants as of 2008, with the largest concentration in two coastal areas, from Ferrol to A Coruña in the northwest from Vilagarcía to Vigo on the southwest. The capital is Santiago de Compostela, in the province of A Coruña. Vigo, in the province of Pontevedra, is the most populous city, with 297,332 inhabitants (INE 2009).
Galicia has its own historic language, Galician, more closely related to Portuguese than Spanish, and sharing a common Galician-Portuguese root language with the former in the Middle Ages. Some authors even consider present-day Galician and Portuguese to be dialects of a single language, but the prevailing view, endorsed by the Galician Language Institute is that differences, especially in phonology and vocabulary, are large enough to make them two separate languages. Inevitably, the distinction is reinforced by the political border. ( source Wikipedia )
