2017年7月 埼玉県小川町の小川町七夕まつりに浴衣美女が行ってきました。
屋台をまわって食べ歩き、小川町の和紙づくりを体験したり、ちょっと踊ったりと「お祭り」を満喫！
今回は前半ブロック！後半も楽しみに！

A Little Glimpse of Ogawamachi, Saitama

First, I met up with my lovely friend Sarah to go to a cafe in Ikebukuro, then hopped on a train to travel for a work trip to a place in Saitama called Ogawamachi! It's really closed to Kumagaya, where I previously lived, so I was really excited to see this area I knew nothing about. We got to stay in an onsen hotel called Kawara no Yu and it was amazing, and we also went to a really good craft beer place. I didn't video a whole lot because it was a work related trip, but I still wanted to show you a bit and talk about it!

Make a wish - Tanabata Celebration, Star Festival

Tanabata 07.07.2017 is also known by the alias of Star Festival. It is widely celebrated in the Japan, but derives from the Chinese Qixi Festival. This holiday is to honor the romantic legend - 'The Weaver Girl and the Cowherd' of two lovers - Cowherd Star (Altair) and Weaver Star (Vega) that are allowed to meet each other only once a year. They are separated by the milky way and can meet only on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. Some parts of Japan celebrate Tanabata even a month later in August because it is a date more accurate to the lunisolar calendar.

These days Japanese celebrate Tanabata by writing wishes on strips of paper and ribbons along with other decorations like, for example, lanterns on bamboo branches. Customs also vary from a region and every one of them has a unique character. The festival is visited by more than two million tourists every year.

Translation:
Bamboo leaves are rustling, rustling,
Swaying close to the roof’s edge,
Oh, how the stars are twinkling, twinkling,
Gold and silver grains of sand.

There are eight bigger events all over the Japan concerning Tanabata Festival: Shitamachi, Shonan, Ogawamachi, Ichinomiya, Anjo, Asagaya, Sayama, Irumagawa and Sendai Tanabata Festivals.
