Bumthang Valley

Bumthang was unlike any other place in Bhutan. See that's the thing in Bhutan every place is unlike the other. What is consistent is the rich heritage and the architecture delights in this country. This lovely valley was pristine and so beautiful. It's made up of four mountain valleys of Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor.

We visited the Jakar Dzong, the ancient temple Jambay Lhakhang, and Kurje Lhakhang, Jakar. We spent a lovely afternoon by the Chamkhar Chu (Chamkhar River) and visited my school friend Dechen's family at Tang Valley also the Ogyen Choling Palace Museum. What a place! Of course got to meet the famous novelist Kunzang Choden (who gave my daughter her favourite book Aunty Mouse). To buy your copy:

I wasn't brave enough to take my daughter to the Burning Lake but my mom went. Bumthang was so beautiful, many miss this because they don't plan it in their itinerary but I would always say that use the Paro Bumthang flight so you miss the three days of driving. It's really worth.
