Oh, Canada
Just want to mention:
I AM NOT A LAWYER. THESE ARE ONLY MY OPINIONS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT CONSTITUTES FAIR USE - AND ANY OTHER DMCA ISSUES - CONSULT AN ATTORNEY WHO SPECIALIZES IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW. :)
This thing is kinda slapdash, I didn't really do a lot of research on Ms. Booty, I just wanted to get back to our gorl. I'm a slow reader and after viewing this a second time, some of the subtitles weren't shown long enough so you'll probably have to pause in a couple places.
I love to listen to YouTube in my car, and I did an audio recording, but ugh, hearing that shit played back was unbearable.....And I'm still trying to figure out Filmora, which is supposed to be super user-friendly.....Needless to say, we are not friends yet.
As a patriotic American, I seriously covet my right to bitch about nothing and shit-talk about everything, mmmk?
This is not a traditional free speech situation because YouTube is not a public utility (in the video I mention a contract with YouTube - that has to do with Universal Music where, basically, Fair Use does not apply).
However, the point - that I didn't make very clear - is that America's general attitude toward speech has kinda bled into the civil sphere and this is evident in the difference between how American courts handle stuff like defamation claims.....and yes, probably fair use issues.
For the most part I have nothing against Canadians OR fat people, ALTHOUGH I CAN get irritated by SOME Canadians' sanctimonious views about us American philistines as though the absence of guns (all things equal) doesn't mean that they don't have the exact same problems.
There are also some decisions by their Human Rights Tribunal that rub me the wrong way, but that's something for another day.
I am also (clearly) NOT a fan of the body positivity/fat acceptance movements. To these people I say: go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here.*
What I love are the protection and promotion of good ideas, and, more importantly, ability to criticize bad ones.
This is for ma maman, a recovering food addict who hasn't eaten flour or sugar in ten years.....and probably thinks I should've had a bar of soap for din-din.
Now, back to our gorl.....
*That's a quote from my favorite movie, As Good As It Gets.
