Ohori Park Japanese Garden, Fukuoka in 4K - 大濠公園 日本庭園 - Japan As It Truly Is
The Ohori Park Japanese Garden is the often ignored gem that extremely few ever see. Discover what they are all missing here.
Traditional Japanese gardens are of course all over Japan, but many are overrun by the tourist mobs. Not this jewel. The Ohori Park Japanese Garden (大濠公園 日本庭園) is tucked away at Ohori Park in Fukuoka City on the south side, and only those who know the city well have ever heard of its existence. It was made in 1984 and covers 12,000 square meters, and offers some delightfully relaxing scenery while giving a taste of the old Japan.

Ōhori Koen - Japanese Garden, Fukuoka ᴴᴰ ● 大濠公園 日本庭園 福岡
► Ōhori Koen is a beautiful, traditional Japanese landscape garden, located next to Ohori Park. It has a 200 yen entrance fee, which is absolutely worth it, taking walk in this little slice of a paradise garden.
It is not a particular famous garden, but to me, it's definitely in my personal top 10 of Best Japanese Gardens. Easy access to Ohori Koen, 2 stops from Fukuoka Tenjin by Kuko Line. - Enjoy!

Whenever Richard Poon accompanies me to a park, I feel extra special because I know parks are my thing, not his.
Just like plastic model kits and watching basketball are NOT my thing, but he is SO HAPPY when I join him in these activities.
Is there an activity that you don't really prefer, but makes your loved one so happy when you join them?

FUKUOKA - OHORI KOEN
I'm going to Ohori Koen in Fukuoka. The weather was really fine and it was a great pleasure and an inspiration to see people jogging and playing sports. The true ideal of weekend. In Korea there is Ilsan Hosu Park which looks similar to here.
Fukuoka Cherry Blossoms
This video was originally uploaded to the channel I share with my brother, but I thought it was better suited to this channel.
It's just a simple little blog of my day gazing at the majestic Japanese cherry blossom trees that covered Maizuru park in soft pink petals in late March and early April 2016. Enjoy!

Ohori Park - Fukuoka City - 大濠公園 - Japan As It Truly Is
A look at Ohori Park in Fukuoka City, Japan. It's one of the most relaxing and beautiful parks in Japan, and offers jogging, boating, traditional garden, annual fireworks, and a picturesque view.
It is actually a reclaimed area originally used as past of the Fukuoka Castle moat, then in 1925 was converted into a park, modeled after the West Lake (Xihu Lake) in China. Ohori Park was officially opened in 1929. It offers a large pond covering 60% of the park, a 2 km jogging track around it, a beautifully sculpted island in the middle, and lots of space to breathe. Both daytime and nighttime offer a wonderful, open atmosphere. Also available to rent are swan boats, row boats, and water striders (a bicycle on 2 pontoons) between March and November; weekdays 11AM-6PM, weekends 10AM-6PM (last entry 5:30PM). Note that only the northern part of the lake is open for boating. Every year in summer there is a huge fireworks show where a tidal wave of people show up to watch.
Ohori Park is next to Maizuru Park, which has the castle ruins and is a major site for cherry blossoms every year. It's also about a 10 minute walk south of Nishi Park, which is another oasis in the city and also a big annual cherry blossom spot.

Ōhori Park 大濠公園 is a park in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, Japan and a registered Place of Scenic Beauty.
Ohori Park is a pleasant city park with a large pond at its center. There is a walking path around the circumference of the pond that is just a little over two kilometers long and is popular for jogging, walking pets and leisurely strolls by the water.
A hexagonal, vermilion pavilion jutting out from one of the islands of Ohori Park.
Various birds, turtles and Koi-fish enliven the park.
The present park was reconstructed by Fukuoka City, modeled on the West Lake of China, and opened in 1929.

Semoga kemesraan ini JANGAN cepat Berlalu :D
Hanami is a long-standing Japanese tradition of welcoming spring. Also known as the “cherry blossom festival,” this annual celebration is about appreciating the temporal beauty of nature. People gather under blooming cherry blossoms for food, drink, songs, companionship and the beauty of sakura (cherry blossoms).

A walk around Fukuoka city’s Nishi Park & Mt. Aratsu
***correction: 01:19 Its not Kouun shrine - it’s Terumo shrine***
Something a little different - Urban hike!
I took a walk in Fukuoka city around Nishi park to find Mt. Aratsu. Nishi park is adjacent the popular Ohori park. It’s a great cherry blossom viewing spot. If you’re in the city, why not check it out?
ACCESS
I started my walk at Akasaka subway station (Akasaka Station (Google maps: but the nearest to the park is Ohorikoen subway station ( There is plenty of car parking in and around the park, although you might have to get there early during cherry blossom season.
