HEHEH OK FAM, I'm not actually married but Oia is the most romantic town in the world and I am DEF GONNA GET MY FAKE LOVIN' ON.
Oia, Santorini is a coastal town on the northwest tip of Santorini. Its whitewashed houses on rugged clifftops is a sight to see! It's one of the MOST popular destinations in Greece.
While Oia is lined with luxury hotels...we were able to find the second best thing - a snazzy pool bar called Lioyerma that gave us the best Santorini sunset view!
At first Oia was hot and too crowded but it turned out amazing...just remember - stray away from the crowds :)

Streets of Oia , Santorini
Raw video footage of Oia. I've just put together the videos i shot (YI 4K+, 1080p, EIS on). We visited the town during the end of May. It was pre season and the streets weren't too crowded yet. Santorini is just beatiful and Oia is such a lovely place. It was a bit windy and cloudy and therefore not too hot.
Just the last short video wasn't shot in Oia. That was in Exo Gonia.

Fira (Thira)
Best places to stay in Santorini are Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia. But Fira is the capital of Santorini. It clings to the top of the cliff (on the edge of the Caldera) just like Oia, Imerovigli and Firostefani and has the most magnificent view of the volcano. To save you a lot of travelling time and cheaper hotel accomodations, Fira is the best of all. The central bus station is in Fira and is accessible to many destination in Santorini . The bus fare ranges from 1.80€ to 2.40€. You can ask a copy of the bus time table from your hotel. Every bus will have a sign of the destination (attractions) such as Kamari beach (Black beach), Perissa Beach (black beach), Red Beach and Akrotiri (Excavation archaeological site), Oia, etc and bring you to the doorstep of the destination (The buses are coaches and are very comfortable with air conditioning ). Fira has the most shoppings and restaurants and is very convenient to go anywhere in Santorini. Though Fira is buzzling from morning to night, traffic there is also chaotic. Be very careful when crossing the road. There are not many pedestrian pathway.
Donkey rides. I personally don’t encourage these rides as the donkeys have to ferry tourist up and down the cliff (about 587 steps). Weather is extremely scorching and I can see the donkeys were exhausted doing this all day long.
Walking down the cliff is fine but walking up is merely impossible and what more about the donkeys ferrying tourist up and down. Take the cable car. Cable car is only €6.00 per person per trip.
Kamari and Perissa Beach (Black Beach)
Kamari and Perissa beach are located on the easten side of the island with shops, restaurants and hotels. Kamari and Perissa are just separated by a hugh mountain of rock. The beaches are so beautiful with lots of nice hotels located directly infront of the beach. The water is deep blue and the sand is black and is magnificent. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the floor (volcano pebbles). Swimming here is great. If you are a beach person and love the peaceful surroundings, these places will be suitable for you to stay. At the far end of the beach, you can find watersports there. Tips: Beach umbrella is free when you buy a drink from the restaurant in Kamari.
Red Beach
Red beach is just next to the excavation archaeological site. This beach is well known of its unique colour of the rocks in red. It is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches of Santorini. In order to make your way to the beach, be prepare to climb over the rocks with a narrow path. There are no shops or maybe one restaurant high up the cliff on this beach. Its worth visiting this beach but be careful of falling rocks.
Akrotiri Excavations Archaelogical Site
Akrotiri Excavations is situated next to the red beach.
Volcano and hot spring tour Excursion
A must see place. Tips: Get good shoes and no slipper, plenty of water and a paper fan. Temperature there is scorching. Be prepared to climb but the view there is spectacular. After that the boat will bring you to the hot spring. If you can swim and have no medical problem, it is a good experience.
White Beach
We took a boat taxi to this white beach from the red beach. If you are in white beach, the only transport back is by boat taxi because there are no buses or hotels at the white beach. There is only one restaurant at the beach. There are no facilities. Still the boat ride was nice and the beach is beautiful.
Oia (Famous sun set)
From Fira to Oia, it takes about 30 minutes. The bus will bring you right to the square of Oia. Walk a few hundred meters up the castle, you can see the sun set. The best spot to watch the famous sun set. Oia has plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels with a magnificent view. You may want to visit Oia in the afternoon, relax and shop around and dine and watch the sun set. It’s a beautiful village that perched high up on the edge of the Caldera with a breathtaking view of the volcano and the whitewashed cliff top towns with that stunning blue roofs
Best Greek Restaurant in Fira : Parea Tavern. Best grilled chicken and pita ever had.
Lastly, you can also rent a quad bikes or cars to explore the island. There are many rental shops of quads/cars in Santorini. Driving in Santorini is really crazy, traffic is chaotic and the roads are very narrow, not mentioning the steep roads. Well, Santorini is a beautiful and romantic place that is unforgetable with that magnificent view and we love it all. Sitting and relaxing in the bar or restaurant having a martini at the high cliff of the Caldera overlooking the volcano and the deep blue waters and watching the sun set is a great experience for us.
We hope you enjoy the video and tips above.

Oia is a small town and former community in the South Aegean on the islands of Thira (Santorini) and Therasia, in the Cyclades, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of the municipality of Santorini, of which it is a municipal unit. It covers the whole island of Therasia and the northwesternmost part of Santorini, which it shares with the municipal unit of Santorini. The main street is named Nikolaou Nomikou. The population was 3376 inhabitants at the 2001 census, and the land area is 19.449 km2. Oia was previously known as Apano Meria (Απάνω Μεριά or Επάνω Μεριά, upper side), a name which still occurs locally as Pano Meria, and the inhabitants are still called Apanomerites (Απανωμερίτες). The Ancient Greek Oia was one of the two harbours of ancient Thera and was located in the southeast of the island, where Kamari is now. Oia reached the peak of prosperity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its economic prosperity was based on its merchant fleet, which plied trade in the Eastern Mediterranean, especially from Alexandria to Russia. The two-story captains' houses built on the highest part of the village are a reminder of the village's former affluence. Part of the town was destroyed by the 1956 earthquake. Oia is scenic village in the north west edge of the Santori island within the Cyclades. It extends for almost 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) along the northern edge of the caldera that forms the island of Santorini, at a height of between 70 and 100 metres (230 and 330 ft) above sea level. Immediately to the east is Phinikia (Φοινικιά; Finikia), and about 500 metres (550 yd) to the north is Tholos (Θόλος). The small fishing village of Ormos Armeni (Όρμος Αρμένης) lies below Oia to the south and is reached via steps. There is a ferry connection to Therasia from the harbour village of Ormos Ammoudi (Όρμος Αμμουδιού; also spelled Amoudi) to the west. There are 300 steps down to the port from Oia. The small island of Agios Nikolaos lies to the southwest. It is built on the steep slope of the caldera and the houses and restaurants are built into niches carved into the caldebra on the seaward side. There are narrow passageways and a central square. The sun light hours in this village are much longer than in the Fira town. Its paths are very narrow and hence gets congested during the tourist season. The idyllic surroundings of the town have a complex of white washed blue domed churches and charming, traditional Cycladic houses and cave houses that are carved into the rock face on top of the cliff. It is set in a location which provides excellent views of the sunset over the caldera. To the southwest, the Bay of Armeni, reachable from the town on foot or by mule, was once an important boat-building centre. Small repairs are now done on a single wharf. Excursion boats for trips around the island and ferries to Therasia leave from here. The harbour of Ammoudi on the western side of the town is reached by steep stairs north of Fort Londsa; there are a few tavernas and a pebble beach. The village is located on top of a hill, at about 150 metres (490 ft) elevation, and known as the Eagles nest from where Palia and Nea Kameni volcanoes are seen and also the island of Thirassia. It is situated to the north of the island and Fira is at distance of 11 kilometres (6.8 mi). The main street in the town, in the central square, is the main trekking path which is cobbled, called the Nikalaou Namikaou, which goes up the hill winding round the caldebra. The island is reached from Fira which is the transport terminus of the island. Caldera boat cruise options are available from either Oia or Fira. Oia typifies the white-painted houses of the Cyclades, in many cases built directly into niches which are cave houses used by crew of the ships, on the lip of the volcanic crater, between which are narrow alleys and blue-roofed churches with cupolas. The wealthy ship captains of the late 19th century built neo-classical mansions. These houses are seen built in succession one above the other. In 1976 the town was included in the programme for preservation and development of traditional settlements of the Greek National Tourism Organisation under Aris Konstantinidis. Over 15 years, the programme sought to preserve, restore and find new uses for selected houses and architectural ensembles representative of traditional Greek architecture. Many of the yposkafa spitia (υπόσκαφα σπίτια), simple seamen's houses on the edge of the caldera, became guest-houses, hotels and restaurants. For their work in Oia, the Greek National Tourism Organisation received the Europa Nostra Prize in 1979 and the Prize of the Architecture Biennale in Sofia in 1986.

GREECE: LET'S GO NIGHT-SHOPPING in the WORLD FAMOUS island of SANTORINI ????️
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go night shopping in the beautiful island of Santorini (Greece) after a spectacular sunset. See some of the tourist shops and the souvenirs they sell, including jewelry and many local special items, Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Santorini (Greek: Σαντορίνη) or Thera (English pronunciation and officially Thira (Greek: Θήρα), is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece's mainland.
Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.
