Takasakiyama is an amazing reserve of over 500 monkeys (macaques) in Oita Prefecture, Japan. It's about 10 minutes by bus from Beppu Station, and if you want to see a large aquarium next to it, get the Monkey Marine Ticket for 2,200 yen at the Beppu Station tourist info office. Technically the park is in Oita City, but it's just so close when you visit Beppu.
There are several monkey parks in Japan; perhaps the Iwatayama Monkey Park in Kyoto is more famous since Kyoto is so big, but Takasakiyama is by far better.

Finding FALL at Mt. Kuju! | Hiking in Japan (Oita)
I went to Kuju to check out some autumn leaves! Mt. Kuju is one of the 100 famous mountains of Japan (hyakumeizan). Next time I'd like to take a tent any stay a night.

Japan Road Trip: Fukuoka to Oita
On this video we take a road trip in Japan ( 日本ロードトリップ Nihon rōdotorippu ) from fukuoka to Oita and on the way we see lots of beautiful sights including... kokonoe yume otsurihashi bridge, the highest suspension bridge which is only for walkway in Japan. Right front of this bridge, you can see ‘Shindo-no-taki’ or ‘Medaki’ which are selected as ‘100 beautiful waterfalls in Japan’. Beyond the bridge, the great forest of Narukogawa-Keikoku. after that we had Japanese, i order a local favorite from Oita Chicken tempura... and it was ( おいしい Oishī ) delicious!!

Taketa City in Oita Prefecture
Have you ever heard of Taketa City in Oita Prefecture? If you are looking for something different from artificial tourist attractions, Taketa is a place for you to go. It takes about 150min by car from Hakata Station to get there. Taketa is abundant in amazing landscapes. For example, the Kuju Highland is breathtakingly beautiful especially when you go off the main roads. Furthermore, the ruins of Oka Castle are famous all over Japan. The castle`s main structures were torn down due to the Meiji restoration. Its grand stone walls which still stand there were built with astonishing technique, making the castle ruins outstanding up to today.From the 325m high plateau near the castle, you can get a spectacular view. Once a year, Chikuraku (Taketa Bamboo Lantern Festival) is held. More than 20,000 lanterns create a romantic and kind of mysterious atmosphere. A unique festival you shouldn`t miss. Taketa also has Onsen to offer. Nagayu Hot Spring are highly carbonated and popular.

The TSUGARUKAIKYO FERRY high speed catamaran roro passenger vessel NATCHAN WORLD carried Japan Ground Self-Defense Force vehicles and departed to Naha from the port of Oita. This is training which moves a unit to a detached island using commercial cargo ships.

We went on a day trip from Fukuoka to Beppu on the Sonic Limited Express train (about 2 hours). From Beppu Station you can take the bus to the first 5 hells in the Kannawa district, then another bus to the final 2 hells. The hells we visited are: Umi Jigoku, Oniishibozu Jigoku, Kamado Jigoku, Oniyama Jigoku, Shiraike Jigoku, Chinoike Jigoku and Tatsumaki Jigoku. They're all natural hot springs, the same type as found in Japanese onsen. They really are so strange and unusual, and this was the highlight of my time in Kyushu.

Yufuin Floral Village In Oita, Japan Day 3
Yufuin floral Village where kiki bakery is from the anime movie merch and totoro some anime manga stores snoopy cafe didnt record it but i have pictures its on my instagram. There is a cake shop that is famous for their roll or layered cake and a hello kitty store

Yunotsubo Kaido Yufuin street.
It's just 20 mins walk (around 1km+) from the station but if you are not familiar with the location, you can actually take the taxi in front of the Yufuin Station and asked them to fetch you to this Floral Village. since we were with a tour we came by bus tour with our taiwanese guide
we came early around 9am so we had till 11am to go back to our restaurant near there to eat so some stores dont open till 9am and when i wanted was kiki bakery and they place to go near the yufuin japan currency area in the beginning dont open till 930am it gets crowed after 10am as we are tourists lol other tourists comes too
day 3 is the last day to explore on our japan tour day 4 is just free time all day for ourselves so we just shopped in the fukuoka city and day 5 just leave japan to go back to taipei since this trip was not that expensive to book in taiwan so this tour was easy relaxing a bunch of shopping.
next time i dont think we going with a tour but fukuoka we still have a lot of places that we didnt go so more
