Oiwa Shrine at Mt. Oiwa
Mt. Oiwa in Hitachi, Ibaraki prefecture, has been known as a sacred mountain since old times. On the mountain there is Oiwa Shrine - a rare shrine, dedicated to 188 gods.
Mt. Oiwa is a mountain that is believed to be a sacred mountain according to a book from about 1300 years ago. Known as a power spot, this is a famous place that is said to have beneficial effects upon its visitors, making them more energetic mentally and physically, not only because of the natural setting but also due to the presence of the shrine as well.
The giant sanbon-sugi (Japanese cedar tree with three trunks) will catch your eye first. It is estimated to be 500 years old, and features three distinctive trunks separated in the middle. Legend has it that there used to be a tengu (long nosed goblin) living in the tree.
Access to Oiwa Shrine
Taking the Tokiwa line's ‘Hitachi express’ from JR Shinagawa, Tokyo, and Ueno stations is the most convenient route when traveling to Oiwa Shrine. It will take about an hour and a half, but if you prefer to take a less expensive route, then either the rapid or local trains are also available. These will increase the time required, however. From Hitachi Station, taking either the bus or a taxi is recommended. The frequency of the buses is limited, so looking up the schedule beforehand is advised. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi, and 35 minutes by bus from Hitachi Station to reach the shrine.

Trek to Mt. Oiwa through Oiwa Shrine— my very first peak climb in ????????
Oiwa Shrine is far from my place in Japan but the drive and experience are all worth it!
There were a lot of visitors when we got there since it’s Golden Week thus car parking gave us a little frustration BUT not that hindrance for us to appreciate the place and the experience! Kaya kaayo mga brah!
So, if you’re in Japan and live near Hitachi, Daigo and nearby places, Mt. Oiwa is worth the trail! ❤️

御岩神社と言えば「光の柱」のエピソードが有名ではないでしょうか。
アポロ14号の宇宙飛行士のエドガー・ミッチェルさんが宇宙から地球を見た時に「光の柱」が見えたそうです。
その緯度と経度を調べてみたところ、それが御岩神社の場所だったというのです。
そのエピソードから御岩神社と言えば「光の柱」や「奇跡の神社」と言われるようになっているのです＾＾
「スピリチュアリスト」と呼ばれる人の中には「世界で３本に入るパワースポット」という人もいるほど、そのパワーは強力なものなのです。
「クニノトコタチノカミ」様や「オオクニヌシノミコト」「イザナギノミコト」「イザナミノミコト」など２２柱、御岩山全体では１８８柱の神々様がお祀りされているのですが、今回の動画は御岩神社の拝殿の周辺の木々を中心とした動画になっています＾＾
御岩神社はその強力なパワーや先ほどの「光の柱」のエピソードや「天岩戸」「赤い石」などの話がありますので、かなり多くの参拝客が日頃から訪れていると言われています。
今回、私が参拝させていただいた時には、台風が直撃していたために私の他に誰もない状況でした。
よく「雨が降ると神さまが歓迎してくれている」と言いますが、３年ぶりの宿泊旅行でまさかの台風でしたが＾＾；
御岩神社を貸し切り状態にできたので、やはり歓迎していただいたのかも知れません＾＾

Mt. Oiwa, which has been revered as a sacred place since ancient times, was a place where several gods appear during the Edo period, which is why it enshrines numerous deities. There is a Buddha statue and the likes inside its grounds. If there are numerous gods, it seems that they will be able to listen to various wishes.

Mount Fuji located on Honshu is the highest volcano in Japan at 3,776.24 m (12,389 ft), 2nd-highest peak of an island (volcanic) in Asia, and 7th-highest peak of an island in the world. It is a dormant stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–1708. Mount Fuji lies about 100 kilometers (60 mi) south-west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone, which is snow-capped for about 5 months a year, is commonly used as a symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
Best time for climbing Mount Fuji. Although the mountain peak is open to hikers from July 1 to early September, the best time to climb is from the end of July to late August. This is due to the relatively stable weather conditions.
Fuji is typically between 3 and 4 hours. Although descending Mt. Fuji is twice as fast as climbing up, it is also considered by many to be twice as difficult. The trail leading down is made up of loose rock and pebbles and is a hazard for slipping and falling flat on your back or face forward.
There are 4 main trails leading up to the summit of Mt. Fuji, the #Yoshida, #Fujinomiya, #Subashiri and #Gotenba trail.
Each trail consists of a 5th station, at which point cars may no longer advance. The largest, most well known 5th station on Mt. Fuji is the Subaru line 5th station (AKA #Kawaguchiko 5th station).
