[4K]Shiogama Shrine 志波彦神社・鹽竈神社 宮城 桜の名所 塩竈桜 しおがまさま神々の花灯り Cherry Blossoms in Miyagi Japan
The Shiwahiko Shrine and Shiogama Shrine, located in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture tohoku japan, have two shrines within the same ground, and become the general headquarters of shiogama Shrine throughout the country. In addition, it is also known as a leading flower attraction in Miyagi Prefecture, and in the spring there are about 40 varieties of cherry blossoms centered on Somei Yoshino and Weeping cherry blossoms. About a week after Somei Yoshino is in full bloom, a national designated natural monument Shiogamazakura blooms. On Saturdays and Sundays in late April, cherry blossoms, Approach and shrines within the precinct are fantastically lit up.

2 Day Trip to Matsushima & Sendai Directly from Narita Airport | japan-guide.com
Learn more about Matsushima and Sendai:
In this video we are heading directly to Miyagi Prefecture from Narita Airport by overnight bus. On the first day we'll explore the Shiogama area, known for it's fish market and shrine. Then take a pleasant cruise through Matsushima Bay past the many pine covered islands that dot the bay. Lastly we'll explore the quaint port town of Matsushima.
On day two we head to the big city of Sendai where we ride the Loople Sendai bus to many famous spots including Zuihoden and Aoba Castle. We end the day and trip walking through the large shopping arcade which leads back to Sendai Station.

Matsushima Bay - One of Three Best Views in Japan
Matsushima (松島) is a group of islands in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. There are some 260 tiny islands (shima) covered in pines (matsu) -- and is ranked as one of the Three Views of Japan. This video shows the views from the boat tour of Matsushima Bay, and also highlights three of the Islands that are accessible on foot. Matsushima is accessible via a 20 minute train ride from Sendai.

Let’s Go! A Day in Matsushima
Matsushimakaigan Station is located approximately 40 minutes North-East via JR Senseki Line from Sendai Station. Matsushima was once used as a military port by the famed ruler Date Masamune. Matsushima (Matsushima = “Pine Island”) is a bay surrounded by many pine tree-dotted islands, some of which can be crossed via bridges.
Matsushima is one of my favourite locations to visit in Miyagi because of its deep connection with nature and history. My recommendation is to go to Oshima Island, often overlooked and skipped because it is further away, but more secluded and less busy early in the morning.
Locations:
Matushima-Kaigan Station
Oshima Island
Kanrantei Tea House
Godaido Temple
Zuiganji Temple
Fukuura Island
Saigyo Modoshi no Matsu Park

Let’s Go! Cats of Tashirojima
Tashirojima is located off the coast of Ishinomaki in Northern Miyagi prefecture. Access from Sendai Station is straightforward via JR Senseki or Senseki-Tohoku Line to the last stop. Then walk or cab to the Ajishima Line to catch a 1 hour ferry ride to the island.
Tashirojima is one of two cat islands in Japan. With a dwindling human population and recovering infrastructure from the 2011 disaster, the main draw of attraction to the island is the tourism to view the many wild cats. You can find cat food in the shelter when you disembark from the ferry if you would like to feed the cats. You can bring cat treats or toys to play with the cats. The majority of the cats are docile and friendly and if you are interested, can pet them like household cats. If you love cats or animals in general, this is definitely a worthwhile stop in Miyagi.
