Fab Five Wine Route Offers Great Variety Just Minutes from Downtown Kelowna
The Fab Five Wine Route consists of five unique wineries situated over a five-mile trail just minutes from downtown and central Kelowna. Several of the wines produced by these wineries' vineyards have been recognized on the world stage, and The Vibrant Vine even won an award for the Best White Wine in the World at the 2013 World Wine Competition in Switzerland. Additionally, this route includes The View, which is well worth visiting because this year it is up for Best Winery in the Best of Kelowna competition.
Helicopter operations at Quails Gate
Apocalypse Now? Emergency heli-vac? No! Quails' Gate winery and Alpine Helicopters of West Kelowna are landing sight-seeing helicopters right next to residential houses near their winery. They have lots of other suitable spots close by that are away from houses but it would inconvenience their high-roller guests. So who cares if they PO their neighbours? One of Quails' Gate's owners gave up his provincial legislature seat so the BC Premier could win it and was richly rewarded for doing so.
