SATOUMI - Hinase town, Okayama Prefecture, Japan
On the southern coast of Honshu Island, facing Japan's largest enclosed sea, is a town that is known for its rich marine heritage. Hinase has long been one of the most commercially successful fishing towns in the Seto Inland Sea area.
Here about 200 fishing families make their living from coastal fisheries, including oyster farming, small-scale trawling, and coastal pound net fishing (a method for catching fish using a system of nets staked upright). The techniques and lore of these activities, including the design of the local pound nets, were originally developed by Hinase fishermen.

Okayama Kurashiki (Japan) One day trip
Halo video kita hari ini tentang visiting Okayama dan Kurashiki dalam satu hari. Objek wisata yang bisa di kunjungi yaitu Korakoen Garden, Okayama castle, dan Bikan chiku Kurashiki.
Korakoen garden is One of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, Okayama Korakuen is a cultural heritage site for the world to treasure.
Okayama Castle (岡山城, Okayamajō), also known as crow castle due to its black exterior, was built in 1597 in the style of the Azuchi-Momoyama Period. The original castle was destroyed in the last year of World War 2, but a reconstruction was made in 1966. The castle is located on the Asahi River, which was used as a moat. Korakuen Garden is located just across the river.
Kurashiki is located west of Okayama Prefecture's southern plains. During the Edo Period some 350 years ago, the area along the Kurashiki-gawa River was under direct control of the shogunate government and trade by boat helped the town to prosper.
The beautiful streetscape of storehouses and merchant homes south of JR Kurashiki Station was selected as an Important Traditional Structures Conservation Area by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and it is still protected as such today as the Bikan Chiku historical area. The Ohara Museum of Art is also located here and, with its world famous collections including pieces by El Greco, Gauguin and Monet, is the first museum of western art in Japan, attracting a constant stream of visitors from both home and abroad.
In the Bikan Chiku historical area, boatmen punt two small boats a long the river where, during the daytime, visitors can enjoy a view of the riverbanks while experiencing a gondola-style boat ride, called the Kurashiki Kawabune Nagashi. When it gets dark, the streets are gently enveloped by soft illumination, making the area enjoyable at night time as well.

Cherry Blossom Street of Shinjo Village,Okayama 岡山県新庄村のがいせん桜
5/11/2011
Shinjō (新庄村 Shinjō-son?) is a village located in Maniwa District, Okayama, Japan.
In 2003 the village had an estimated population of 1,047 and a density of 15.6 persons per km². The total area is 67.1 km².
This village is known for the cherry trees along its main street, which is called Triumphal return Cherry Blossom Street (がいせん桜通り Gaisen sakura dōri?). These trees were planted to celebrate the Japanese victory over the Russians in the Russo-Japanese War in 1905.
There are many old buildings along Victory Cherry Blossom Street. Many of these buildings used to be hotels that were built to accommodate the sankin kōtai annual mandatory processions of feudal lords from their domains to the capital and back. It is also said that Emperor Go-Toba passed this way in exile on his way to an island in the Sea of Japan where he died.
Shinjō grows a variety of rice called hime no mochi. This rice is used to make the mochi rice cakes for which this town is also known. The hime no mochi factory is a major employer in Shinjō.
Shukuba (宿場?) were post stations during the Edo period in Japan, generally located on one of the Edo Five Routes or one of its sub-routes. They were also called shukueki (宿駅). These post stations (or post towns) were places where travelers could rest on their journey around the nation. They were created based on policies for the transportation of goods by horseback that were developed during the Nara and Heian periods.
Honjin (本陣?) is the Japanese word for an inn for government officials, generally located in post stations (shukuba) during the later part of the Edo period.
Originally, honjin were places from which generals directed battles and, therefore, were fleeting in nature. However, as commanders began to transform the honjin into temporary lodgings during battle and travel, honjin came to be places where daimyō and other representatives of the shogunate, including hatamoto, monzeki, etc., were allowed to stay during their travels. Many of the honjin were actually personal residences of village and town leaders. As such, they received official designations from the government and expanded their residences to include walls, gates and other features. Because of their cooperation, the owners of the honjin also gained various special rights. General travelers, regardless of status or money, were not able to stay at honjin.
Waki-honjin (脇本陣), also referred to as sub-honjin, are similar in structure and operation to, but generally smaller than, honjin. The rules of operation were also are slightly different. When two official traveling parties are staying in the same post station, the more powerful of the two stayed in the main honjin. The major difference, though, is that general travelers were able to stay at the waki-honjin, if they had enough status or money.
新庄村(しんじょうそん)は、岡山県の北西部に位置し、鳥取県と境を接する村で県内では西粟倉村と共に2つある村の1つ。また人口は県内自治体中、最小である。出雲街道の本陣・宿場町として栄えた。

Kurashiki Bikan District - Okayama ● 美観 倉敷 岡山
► The Bikan historical quarter in the city of Kurashiki, Okayama, was an important city in the Edo period (1603-1867), being one of the key-cities in trading of rice. The canals were built to allow boats to navigate between the city's storehouses and the nearby port. Most of the buildings in the Bikan District are original and extremely well kept. Today, most buildings are transformed into small cozy cafés, souvenir shops, museums or simply private homes. It's a great place to go exploring the small maze of narrow alleys, ending up finding the most nice backyard garden, a nice teahouse, or some other small gem you didnt expect finding. - Enjoy!

Trip to island of Shodoshima Japan
Shōdoshima is an island in Japan’s Seto Island Sea. On the south coast, olives grow in the hillside groves at Shōdoshima Olive Garden. At low tide, Angel Road sandbar links 3 tiny islets to the main island. Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village has the preserved set of a popular Japanese film, plus a cinema museum. In the center of the island, trails and a cable car cross Kankakei Gorge, known for its vibrant fall foliage.
