A park for the Okazaki citizens built on the castle grounds. Within the park, there are many historic sites such as the Okazaki Castle, the Ninomaru Noh Theater, and the Tatsuki Shrine. At the Mikawa Bushi Museum, associated with Ieyasu Tokugawa, you can try on warrior armor and helmets. In April when the cherry trees bloom, a beautiful scene is created with the castle in the background.

Beautiful and Gourmet City OKAZAKI
Okazaki city is an old historical town in Aichi prefecture. It's a castle town that has prospered for centuries, and is also known as the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of Japan's most famous historical SHOGUN.
Okazaki Park, which is where Okazaki Castle is located, is a popular spot to see the cherry blossoms in the spring that's visited by many people. Its multicolored shrine is also a great spot for Instagram photos.
You can also meet Okazaki's popular mascot Okazaemon, and maybe even some samurai!
In terms of food, Okazaki is famous for its miso, and Hatcho Miso, which is right next to Okazaki Castle, has been making miso for centuries. Stew made from their miso is also popular.
It takes 30 minutes by train from Nagoya to get to the beautiful city of Okazaki. So why don't you stop by for a visit?

藤まつり岡崎公園 Japanese wisteria festival okazaki park
乙川を渡って、おおまわりして、岡崎城、藤まつりの順で撮影。藤は、岡崎公園南側の乙川堤防沿い（竹千代通り）にある約1300平方メートルの藤棚に、推定樹齢120年の藤が数本植えられています。4月末から5月の初めに、見事な花を咲かせます。岡崎市民には5万石藤と呼ばれ親しまれているそうです。撮影した時期は満開には少し早く、2013年の満開は5月の初め頃ではないかと藤棚売店の人は言っていました。

KYOTO Okazaki Park Walkthrough in JAPAN
A walk through Okazaki Park, in Kyoto, Japan, during the awesome Autumn/Fall season. The park has changed a lot from when I visited in 2014, but Okazaki Park in 2019 is still a really nice place to relax and chill out after walking all day. Okazaki Park is also right next to the HEIAN Shrine if you plan on visiting there!
