Saigō-misaki Cape (Dōgo Island)
- Views of the port protected by the gods - Located on the south side of Saigō Bay, the observatory offers views spanning from Saigō Bay to Mr. Daimanji. The lighthouse, built on the remains of a crater, was completed in 1921 using the first lens issued in Japan, and ensures maritime safety even today. This is a well-known spot for watching boats coming in and out of the bay as well as seeing sunrise, sunset, and the lights of squid fishing boats, called isaribi.

Liancourt Rocks
The Liancourt Rocks, also known as Dokdo or Tokto in Korean, and Takeshima in Japanese, are a group of small islets in the Sea of Japan. While South Korea controls the islets, its sovereignty over them is contested by Japan. South Korea classifies the islets as Dokdo-ri, Ulleung-eup, Ulleung County, North Gyeongsang Province. Japan classifies them as part of Okinoshima, Oki District, Shimane Prefecture. The Franco-English name of the islets derives from Le Liancourt, the name of a French whaling ship which came close to being wrecked on the rocks in 1849.
