The main tank called the 'Kuroshio Sea' holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (沖縄美ら海水族館 Okinawa Churaumi Suizokukan?) is located within the Ocean Expo Park in Okinawa, Japan. It welcomed its 20 millionth visitor on 30 March 2010[3] and is a member of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums (JAZA). 【CHURAUMI AQUARIUM】美ら海水族館 Churaumi Suizokukan, OKINAWA 沖縄
The Churaumi Aquarium is widely considered Japan's best aquarium. It is the main attraction of the Ocean Expo Park on the former grounds of the 1975 International Ocean Expo in northern Okinawa Honto. The aquarium was completely redesigned and reopened in 2002.
The highlight of a visit to the Churaumi Aquarium is the massive Kuroshio Tank, one of the largest in the world. The tank takes its name from the warm Kuroshio current which plays a large part in the variety of Okinawa's of marine life. The tank contains a wide variety of species, the most striking of which are the giant whale sharks and manta rays...

美麗海村民宿真的是沖繩北部很好的住宿地點，雖然沒有海景，但是居住環境很好，離水族館開車只要5分鐘，到本部町超市、市場只要12分鐘。
傍晚可以在外面放煙火～
注意1：不可以放沖天炮！
注意2：傍晚開始蚊子就多了(民宿有提供蚊香)
沒有Wi-Fi，要到管理棟才有。

位於沖繩本島北部,本部町的沖繩美麗海水族館,是個每年約有300萬以上參觀人數的人氣觀光景點.以「與沖繩之海相遇」為主題,總展示數約740種類共2萬1000隻生物,從館內3樓開始,彷彿從淺灘緩緩潛入深海中似的展示方式.

Longest episode yet!
Reiko and I took a trip in January to the Churaumi Aquarium. First time renting a car while traveling in Asia and it went really smooth. It's about 3 hrs by car from Naha to Motobu where the aquarium is. Train tickets would have cost about the same and then we wouldn't have been able to get around since it's a pretty small town.
I think this aquarium had the biggest single tank with a visible side I've ever seen. There are two whale sharks and half a dozen giant mantas. Check out the part where they feed the mantas. They do a cool loop de loop to eat.
Also in this episode we check out some beaches, and an Okinawan history museum + recreated village.
